Looking Ahead

January 3, 2014July 28, 2015

2014 is bound to be great.  John will receive his first communion.  Whit will start Kindergarten.  I will celebrate my 20th high school reunion.  Honey is taking golf back up.  And we’ve got some fantastic family trips planned.  We’re healthy and hope to get healthier, and we’re happy and plan to stay that way. While… Read More

Five

December 13, 2013July 28, 2015

I can hardly believe it – my baby is five.  My baby.  He is a true joy in every respect.  He’s easy going, kind, helpful and smart.  He’s the most practical member of our family and not much ruffles his feathers.  Those baby blues make it hard to ever say no!  He’s quick to laugh… Read More

December 11, 2013July 28, 2015

Have y’all be following along in the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes? Well, if you haven’t already, you simply must check out Lisa’s home.  It’s pretty fabulous…think: loads of fresh greenery, a precious Advent calendar (that I’m absolutely copying next year), and a darling way to display her cards from Christmases past (yep,… Read More

Halloween Chalkboard Art Tutorial

October 3, 2013July 28, 2015

So, kinda like the chalk paint craze, I am pretty tardy to the chalkboard art party.  Last year when I decked out the porch for Halloween, my fish painting bothered me in the background – taunting me with is springy-ness and reminder of summers past.  When Honey said he had a great board for it… Read More

Beware, Haunted

October 2, 2013July 28, 2015

Come inside… if you dare! A huge spider makes his way up the front facade, while pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns adorn the porch.  The Bronwyn Hanahan Candy Corn hangs on the door.   Now, enter at your own risk!  A bevy of black crows have taken over the foyer, and bats are flying rampant.  Not to… Read More

The Boys of Summer

September 9, 2013July 28, 2015

PSR (parish school of religion) kicked off for the littles this morning and, while we spent most of the rest of the day catching up on exciting things like laundry, yard work and closet organizing, we did manage to hit the pool for a couple of hours.  These boys spent quite a bit of time… Read More

The Southern Porch Screened {Before & After}

August 4, 2013July 18, 2017

UPDATED 2017 PORCH >> CLICK HERE for recent changes and sources! AS SEEN IN:   Ever since we first finished the porch last year, we hemmed and hawed over whether or not to screen it in. That was the original intent, after all, but we loved how open it was without the screens so much that… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
