Monogrammed Canvas

August 20, 2012July 28, 2015

The minute that The Nester’s monogrammed canvas popped up on my Pinterest feed, I knew then and there that it was the perfect piece for my guest bathroom.  (Picture from The Nester) You see, I had a large space of wall to fill and not a whole lot to spend!  I already owned the large… Read More

Good Luck Smartie Pants {Free Printable}

August 14, 2012July 30, 2015

The PCP trotted off to his first day in first grade with this sweet sentiment tucked into his lunch box… It’s a reprise of the same treat he found in his box on the first day of Kindergarten.  He asked me for smarties in his lunch at least one hundred more times throughout the one… Read More

Meet and Greet and Treats {Free Printable}

August 9, 2012July 28, 2015

We spent our day yesterday anxiously awaiting the posting of class lists for the new school year.  At four on the dot we were in the school parking lot pouring over the list of Mrs. B’s first grade class!!  I snapped a quick pic of the list and last night we looked everyone up in… Read More

Shell Centerpiece {Porch Projects}

July 20, 2012July 28, 2015

To wrap up my week long porch projects palooza, I’m back with the details on my shell centerpiece.  Sister lucked out with two of these giant hand painted plaster clam shells and was a complete doll to give one to little old me!!  I’ve been sitting on it for a couple of months, along with… Read More

Cleat and Rope Picture Hanging {Porch Projects}

July 19, 2012July 28, 2015

This cleat and rope picture hanger is one of my favorite accents on the porch!  I love the coastal feel it imparts on the space.  We hung Pottery Barn’s reclaimed pine flag picture for the Fourth, but it will soon be home of an Angie Reuter fish painting!! I purchased the rope and cleats at… Read More

Mercury Glass Candle Holders {Porch Projects}

July 18, 2012July 28, 2015

After perusing loads of DIY mercury glass tutorials on Pinterest, I ended up using a ridiculously simple method to make the two candle holders on the porch dining table. You’ll need: – A clear glass jar / candle holder / vase / or whatever strikes your fancy (these were from Target at $7ish a piece…they… Read More

Skirted Table {Porch Projects}

July 17, 2012July 28, 2015

When we first starting talking about the layout of the new porch, I immediately knew I wanted Honey to make me a long, skinny counter-height table to go under the window.  It will be great to use as a buffet, bar and many other things!   Honey used scrap wood to build the legs and a… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻 Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
