Ringing in 2024

January 1, 2024January 1, 2024

We celebrate New Years Eve last night much like we have the past few years. John went out with friends, while Honey, Whit and I did a delicious dinner at Rumi’s Kitchen. After dinner we dropped Whit off at a friend’s house and then headed to our friend’s house for a jammie party. It was… Read More

On My Bedside {12 Books in 12 Months}

January 13, 2023January 4, 2024

I see a lot of lofty reading goals on social media but decided to go with one a little more achievable, knowing myself. I don’t remember much from my days at Coke, and I certainly don’t miss setting annual objectives, but I do know how to make a SMA(chievable)RT goal. Is that even still a… Read More

January Junk Out Jamboree 2023

January 10, 2023January 11, 2023

After a hiatus in 2022, my January Junk Out Jamboree is in full swing. Believe me, I can tell that I took a year off of the deep cleaning and organization. I made a list of 31 areas to clean, purge and organize. I find doing it this way is so much more manageable and… Read More

After a day spent at home resting, watching football and doing super fun things like cleaning the oven and ironing my bedspread, we enjoyed our 20th annual New Years Day meal! I gave myself gorgeous white linen napkins with a metallic gold monogram for Christmas last year (ha!) and they were the jumping off point… Read More

Honey’s top choice for business dinners is always Rumi’s Kitchen (two locations in Atlanta). He comes home every time talking about how amazing it is. Well, I finally got to try it and…. drumroll please…. it absolutely lived up to my high expectations!!! Honey, Whit and I celebrated our New Year’s Eve with this table… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
