Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Graduation Day Dinner}

July 17, 2024July 13, 2024

Well, I do believe this is the last of a year long celebration of the class of 2024. Each graduate was limited in the number of guests they could bring to the ceremony, so we gathered with the extended family to celebrate John later that evening! It was my dream to have this dinner with… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Graduation Day Breakfast}

July 12, 2024July 12, 2024

Gosh y’all, graduation day was a month and a half ago and I could shed all the tears again just starting to recap our day here on the blog. I could barely sleep a wink the night before, so I was up bright and early to prepare John’s (current) favorite breakfast. We had Mother and… Read More

Fab Finds {Our New Cornhole Set!}

June 28, 2024June 30, 2024

Cornhole is one of our favorite yard games and something the boys drag out nearly every time they have friends over. Honey built our set about 15 years ago and it served us well. But, it was made of wood, had been left out in the rain a few times and had definitely seen better… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Grad Party Pics}

June 27, 2024June 28, 2024

It hard to believe we celebrated John, Michael and Carl six weeks ago! It was such a wonderful party that we still chat about often. I shared videos and little details from the party, as well as my season decor in the posts below. Today I’ll share all of the photos from my camera roll!… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Grad Party: Candy Board}

June 10, 2024June 2, 2024

One of the biggest hits at the grad party was the candy board! It was absolutely wiped clean by the end of the event. I used the long 6′ board Honey cut for me many years ago down the center of our island. Down the center of the board, I started with white dishes to… Read More

Sunday Sweet {Iced Sugar Cookie Recipe from the Archives}

June 2, 2024June 2, 2024

I’ve been making these sugar cookies since the boys were born. They are a labor of love, but are truly the most delicious iced sugar cookies I’ve ever had. If you love almond flavoring, don’t lose this recipe! Mother and I made them for John’s grad party. We wanted to include something he’d grown up… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Grad Party: Y’all Come On In}

May 31, 2024June 2, 2024

I’ll wrap up grad party videos today with the inside set up! Again, we had to move a lot more inside than we thought, but it worked out well and really did spread out our guests. In the kitchen we served desserts both on the drink bar and the island (the candy board was a… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
