If you’ve been following along with my Instagram stories, you will know that I’ve been on a mission to keep the magic and fun in the Christmas season for my family. Tonight after our Sunday Supper we snuggled up in the den with blankets and pillows and showed the boys Christmas Vacation for the first time! It was AWESOME and they (particularly Whit) laughed so hard.
Now that the boys are bigger and need more space, we bring our twin eggcrate topper down from the attic for movie nights. It’s super comfy and will likely just stay down here through the holidays. We originally purchased it for road trips (when the boys have to share a bed because they won’t), but use it at home all the time! It’s always the “best seat in the house” and Elsa and I lucked out with it last night.
I picked up some eggnog for the occasion since they boys had never tried it. Just a couple of days before our big night, my friend Dana posted on Facebook about her favorite holiday cocktail. I was inspired to turn the adult glasses into eggnog cocktails!
Dana & Brian’s Favorite Holiday Cocktail
She said she doesn’t have a fancy for name it. :-) This is for one. Our glasses are small so I doubled and got probably 3 out of it.
- 2.5 oz eggnog
- 1 oz vanilla flavored almond milk (to thin the eggnog)
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 2 oz kahlua
Combine everything in a shaker and mix well over ice. Strain into glasses. Grate fresh nutmeg on top! YUM!
Notes:
For the boys, I did eggnog and vanilla flavored almond milk, with grated nutmeg on top. Neither of them cared for it. :-)
You can find the officially licensed Moose Mugs on Amazon HERE. I found them on the Target app with same day pick up for $15. In store they are $20, but they do price adjust at the register for future reference.

Our family watches “Christmas Vacation” every Thanksgiving night to usher in the holidays. I am someone who does not use a lot of profanity but Randy Quaid saying “Sh8*&#’s full!” cracks me up every time!
