The Absolute Easiest Cinnamon Rolls

I have blogged a strange number of times about cinnamon rolls. I suppose they are my favorite breakfast treat – tied with a Krispy Kreme donut if you can believe that! I’ve never tried to replicate that KK deliciousness, but it seems I’ve been on a quest to find a recipe that balances ease and taste for cinnamon rolls for a long, long time. This method is semi-homemade, reminiscent of Sandra Lee, and courtesy of Whit! He found something similar on TikTok and we worked it into an actual recipe.

Semi-Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

  • 2 cans Grands Cinnamon Rolls
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Place the 10 cinnamon rolls equidistant apart in a large, sprayed baking pan. Mine is slightly larger than the standard 13×9 pan and worked great!

Pour the heavy cream over the tops of each roll, and in between them in the cracks.

Melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour this over the cinnamon rolls.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350, or until cooked and browned.

Ice with the included icing cups OR homemade frosting below.

For Homemade Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter (at room temperature or softened)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature or softened)
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1 tbs milk
  • 1 tsp almond extract

The proportions here make a little too much frosting so you will have some left.

We all agree the homemade frosting seriously elevates this breakfast! Definitely go that route!

I love cooking with my boys. John and I have a breakfast burrito recipe to share soon – we’ve been making them for the week every Sunday!
