My family loves the broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl from Panera SO much! For about a decade it has been our road trip meal any time we head South. We stop in Macon at Panera and indulge in this cozy, filling comfort food. The funny thing is that my boys had no clue there was a Panera just about two miles from home until recently. They thought it was a very special road trip only stop. :-)
RECIPE: Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Casserole with Garlic Butter Pretzels
When I saw this recipe on Half Baked Harvest, I knew I had to give it a go. The “soup” was delicious. The garlic butter pretzels just didn’t scratch the sourdough itch. Of course, if you don’t have an affinity for the Panera version you’d love this one.
And, that said, we all gobbled it up – not a bite was left. Next time I’d love to buy some sourdough and just make the soup part. I’ve tried my hand at homemade sourdough a few times in the last 25 years to no avail.
I have planned all the yummy indulgent things for this week – cozy breakfasts, cheesy afternoon snacks, happy hour craft cocktails. I am so excited to have the boys home all week, my parents coming to stay, Cee’s Nutcracker, and John’s 18th birthday on the horizon!
