Celebrating The Class Of 2024 {12 Gifts On The 24th: Dorm Things Part 1}

December was a blur but I kept the 12 gifts to him on the 24th of the month going. If you want to brush up on this little project, read this post. You’ll also find a ton of great ideas from other readers in the comments.

Class of 2024 – Gifts on the 24th
August: Packing & Moving
September: Laundry
October: First Aid & Medicine Cabinet
November: AirTags
December: Dorm Things Part 1
January: Backpacks and Bags
February: Tools
March: He’s Committed
April: Dorm Bedding

John started a wish list on things he thinks he will want for his dorm room. I have my own list going so when I saw a few things on both, I figured they would make a great start to “dorm things”. I’m calling this part one because I suspect I’ll be on part 973 by the time he actually arrives at college. :-)

Large Blanket

He’s always snuggled up in a blanket at home so this seemed like a solid choice to carry off to school.

Tower Fan

I have seen this on many dorm essentials lists and think it is a solid add.

He’s already using and loving both at home. As always, feel free to leave suggestions in the comments!

  1. You may need a ladder/step stool if he lofts his bed.
Also bring a rubber mallet. You may have to loft the bed on move in day and may need tools.
We bought tide pods and they discourage that for laundry.
Trying to think of things not on all the lists.
Think ahead about all the cables you need for tv/computer. Set up wifi etc. when you get there.
You don’t want to have to go shopping on move in day.
    Good luck.

  2. When I saw the title I thought for sure it would be bedding (sheets & a comforter) and a mini fridge. :)
