The Disney Treasure {Ship Overview & Stunning Staterooms}

I had the extreme pleasure of representing Glass Slipper Concierge on a preview cruise of the Disney Treasure last month and will be back on board with my family in February. The Treasure is the “brother” ship to the Wish with the same deck plans, stateroom layouts and venue locations with most featuring different themes. It absolutely stunning and, dare I say, my favorite in the fleet!

The Treasure

On the Disney Treasure the spirit of adventure meets the daring tales of classic Disney films and Disney park attractions. The newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Treasure sails 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral.

During the many voyages to come, a lineup of adventures, world-class dining, immersive family entertainment and unique spaces await. You will be able to experience the far-reaching realms of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and embrace dynamic tales from beloved Disney Parks attractions, through captivating experiences on the high seas for the very first time. A variety of reimagined guest favorites return, and Disney Cruise Line-firsts come to life on the Disney Treasure including Disney’s first “Coco”-inspired theatrical dining experience; an all-new stage show featuring the journey of Moana; brand-new lounges inspired by Disney Parks attractions like Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”; and more. Everyone in the family will find something to enjoy!

For 25 years, each ship in the fleet has been adorned with characters from beloved Disney stories. The Disney Treasure follows this tradition with its own signature character sculptures that honor the ship’s motif of adventure, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Harnessing the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter Pan levitates next to the Disney Treasure to add the finishing touch to the ship’s stern filigree. Meanwhile, Peter Pan’s longtime rival, Captain Hook can be seen leaning out a porthole with a vengeful expression on his face. Paintbrush and paint bucket in hand, Peter Pan sports a mischievous grin as he glances back at Captain Hook, who is dripping in yellow paint.

The Grand Hall

All Disney Cruise guests begin their vacation in the Grand Hall, or as I like to think of it – our palace on the seas. The Grand Hall embodies the ship’s theme of adventure and draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa, as well as the enchanting land of Agrabah from the film, “Aladdin.”

At the heart of the Grand Hall is a life-size bronze statue of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and Magic Carpet, right at the base of the grand staircase. Surrounding this iconic statue, are even more details found throughout the Grand Hall that are inspired by “Aladdin” and represent the film’s spirit of adventure. Nearby the statue, you’ll spot the magic lamp. The Grand Hall’s intricate carpet evokes the fountain in Jasmine’s courtyard and also features animals you’ll see in the film including Aladdin’s mischievous monkey sidekick Abu, Jasmine’s birds, the golden scarab beetle, and more.

The Grand Hall also becomes a dynamic theater that offers incredible entertainment experiences, character encounters and interactions with special storytellers – the Treasure “Sea”kers – who perform short retellings of classic Disney stories.

Be sure to look up at the radiant, glowing chandelier. The mini lanterns surrounding the centerpiece represent the 6 Disney Cruise Line ships and their respective icons!  (In the second photo below look closely to see Cinderella’s slipper representing the Wish and Minnie representing the Fantasy.) Each evening the chandelier comes to life, started by the lamp, for a shining, shimmering, splendid end to your day.

In the hall, every central gathering place needs a fountain. You may look at your feet and find there’s water right below in the designs of the carpet. The fountain actually starts up two decks tall, so Imagineers designed a smaller fountain on the carpet that cascades down to Deck Four and down to Deck Three, where the Grand Hall fountain is on the carpet.

From the lounge, concierge Guests have access to a private sun deck with two whirlpools, a wading pool, a bar, lush lounge furniture and the superlative service of a pool deck host.

On top of those amenities, I am able to book port adventures, on-board activities, specialty dining and cabanas for concierge guests over a week before any other guests! This is a HUGE perk!!
