A Day in the Life on the Disney Treasure {Day 1: Embarkation Day}

We are just off of the Disney Treasure for Whit’s winter break. It was an exceptional experience – from the food to the entertainment to the service to the amazing spaces all over the ship. We sailed the 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary in a concierge family oceanview stateroom with verandah.

Day 1: Embarkation Day

We arrived at port just before 11:00 AM and were among the first guests to board the ship. There is a concierge waiting room, but we came in just as they were letting the room board so we didn’t even take a seat.

Walking on to any Disney Cruise ship is magical. It truly sets the tone for the voyage ahead. Your family is announced and cast members clap to welcome you!

Concierge guests are sent straight to lunch in the dining room off of the Grand Hall of whichever ship you are sailing. For the Wish and Treasure, it’s 1923. A welcome drink is also included.

Concierge staterooms are available immediately after lunch, and our luggage had already been delivered on arrival. We took a little time to unpack and get settled in our home for the week. Disney’s staterooms are designed with families in mind – don’t underestimate this in choosing a cruise line. They are light, bright, and gorgeous with luxurious bedding and TONS of storage. Nobody does it like Disney. Concierge staterooms are also the only options with King beds, which can make a difference in a week long voyage.

Our next stop was to the concierge lounge where they serve beer, wine and champagne all day on embarkation day! The Treasure lounge has a subtle and elegant Star Wars theme, which we noticed right away.

We changed into swim suits when we unpacked and hit the concierge sun deck until Sail Away! It’s spacious with a dedicated towel attendant, sunscreen, and private bar.

As the sun set, we changed for dinner and hit happy hour in the lounge. Top shelf liquor, beer, wine and mocktails are served complimentary from 5-10 PM daily. The Wish and Treasure also have a chef that makes a small daily selection of hot plates to order, for 3 meals each day. We always try a few since we prefer the late dinner seating.

You would not believe all of the activities, entertainment and experiences included on Disney Cruise Line. There ae SO MANY that we love. We were excited to see Decades Music Trivia on night one.

After trivia, we were off to dinner at 1920. There are 3 restaurants on each ship and guests are assigned a rotation to enjoy every one. But, don’t worry, the menu changes every night! The mini donuts are chef’s kiss.

After dinner Whit was off to do teen things and Honey and I went to two more faves – Majority Minds and Match Your Mate.

It was an incredible first day!
