Enchanted Escapes for Adults
While Disney Cruise Line is beloved for its family experiences, the Disney Destiny proves that adults have just as much fun onboard – maybe even more. I sail Disney as often without my kids as I do with them, and this most recent Christening Cruise confirmed what I already suspected: the Destiny is an exceptional choice for adults. Instead of a single adults-only district like the older ship classes, adult venues and experiences are beautifully woven throughout the ship, giving it an elevated and sophisticated feel without losing Disney charm.
Whether you’re traveling for a romantic getaway, a friends’ trip, or a parent-escape weekend (highly recommend!), there is a long list of reasons you’ll love being an adult onboard the Disney Destiny. Here are a few of my favorite spots.
Quiet Cove
Adults indulge in sun-drenched serenity at Quiet Cove, a peaceful refuge dedicated to lounging, sipping and soaking. Set away from the bustle of family activities, this secluded adults-only district features a luxurious infinity pool, poolside bar and chic cafe.
Cove Cafe
Sit back and relax at the Cove Café, an adults-only lounge that’s the perfect place to take time out for specialty drinks, coffee beverage offerings or tea throughout the day. During the evening, Guests can unwind while socializing and enjoying cocktails, wine or a light bite. Adult beverage tastings are also available at select times for an additional fee.
Serenity Bay
Serenity Bay is the adult only area at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Here you feel a world away in clear, calm waters with white sandy beaches!
Senses Spa
Fun meets tranquility on the Disney Destiny at Senses Spa – a nature-inspired oasis offering a full menu of spa and beauty treatments.

My personal favorite spot to relax and unwind is the Rainforest Room. Day passes and length of cruise passes can be purchased at the spa once onboard. This indoor area features heated lounges, fountains, an aromatherapy steam room, a dry sauna and a calming pool.
Outdoor Oasis at Senses Spa
For the first time aboard a Disney ship, Senses Spa features a dedicated outdoor relaxation space! This open-air oasis is a brand-new extension to the signature Rainforest experience.
My personal favorite spot to relax and unwind is the Rainforest Room. Day passes and length of cruise passes can be purchased at the spa once onboard. This indoor area features heated lounges, fountains, an aromatherapy steam room, a dry sauna and a calming pool.
The Rainforest Room and Outdoor Oasis are not included with a spa treatment. They are entirely separate bookings, made once onboard. The gym is also found in the spa area.
Untangled Salon
At Untangled Salon, Guests can let their hair down (and have it styled any way they want) in a light and airy environment that is perfect for pampering. Inspired by Rapunzel, this chic, high-end salon is adorned in shades of purple and gold, decorated with floating lantern light fixtures and outfitted with custom cut-metal privacy screens depicting Rapunzel’s own paintings. In addition to haircuts and styling, the menu of services at Untangled Salon will include manicures, pedicures, teeth whitening and skin treatments.
Hook’s Barbery
Hook’s Barbery is a unique twist on a traditional European men’s salon, offering cuts, shaves, and nail and skin care. Decked out in dark woods, handsome leather chairs and ornate golden mirrors, the space brims with narrative details inspired by its namesake, Captain Hook: an inlaid wooden map of Never Land, a hidden pocket watch and, of course a hook, to name a few. A trio of seemingly nondescript lanterns occasionally comes to life with lighting and audio effects to signify Tinker Bell jumping from one fixture to another.
Not only will Hook’s Barbery provide salon and barber services, but it also boasts the ultimate toast to a pirate’s life: a hidden bar! This (not-so-secret) treasure trove of pre-Prohibition bourbons, vintage whisky and port, aged rum and premium spirits will be a liquor enthusiast’s paradise, ideal for low-key hangouts, romantic date nights, hosted tastings and special evening events.
Café Megara
This specialty café is inspired by Hercules’s Megara. It’s bold, beautiful, and full of personality. Styled in a playful Greco-disco motif with marble textures, lavender and rose florals, and nods to Greek pottery patterns, it feels chic and modern while still being deeply rooted in storytelling.
The menu offers specialty coffees and gorgeous pastries and sweets which make for a perfect mid-afternoon stop or pre-excursion treat. Look closely for hidden references in the columns and fresco-style artwork celebrating Meg’s wit and resilience.
Café Merida
Inspired by Brave and ancient Scotland, Café Merida is warm and earthy with wood and stone textures, Celtic patterns, and references to medieval artistry. It feels cozy and intimate and is a lovely spot to work (ugh!) or read during the day. Specialty lattes, teas, and light bites round out the menu, and I know this will be a favorite retreat for many.
Cask & Cannon
A pirate’s pub through and through. Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, Cask & Cannon is filled with details that fans of the attraction will absolutely appreciate. Think nautical relics, charred wood portholes, lantern lighting and Captain Jack Sparrow’s compass hidden in the carpet design.
The atmosphere is lively and casual with sports on TV, a wonderful rum-forward menu (the selection is impressive), and a relaxed pub energy that makes it one of the best places onboard for a hangout. It is the perfect stop on Pirate Night and a great place for a break between dinner and the evening shows.
De Vil’s
Perfectly wretched… in the most fabulous way. De Vil’s is a lavish piano lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil and her unmistakable flair for drama. Sleek lines, bold red-black-white styling, and playful 101 Dalmatians nods set the tone, all anchored by a striking spotted grand piano.
It’s glamorous, moody, and wonderfully theatrical. Live music fills the room in the evenings, and if you’re in the lounge at the right moment, Cruella herself may appear in a delightfully wicked takeover performance. The specialty cocktails are as couture as the space itself, and truly feel like part of the show. I loved this venue! It’s intimate, stylish, and an ideal spot for a pre- or post-dinner drink.
The Sanctum
Inspired by Doctor Strange, The Sanctum is mysterious in the best possible way. It’s subtle at first glance, but once you look closely, the details come alive. Honey is going to LOVE this space with mystical artifacts, spell books, the Cloak of Levitation and the signature circular window anchoring the back bar.
This lounge shifts beautifully from day to night: family-friendly activities earlier in the day, and then a sophisticated evening atmosphere with an inventive cocktail menu and live music. The levitating drink effects and magical presentation touches were a hit and felt perfectly themed without being gimmicky.
Haunted Mansion Parlor
Welcome, foolish mortals. This lounge is a dream come true for Haunted Mansion fans and, in my opinion, one of the most memorable venues onboard. The Parlor tells the mysterious tale of a doomed sea captain and his eerie bride, with haunting effects, enchanted objects and subtle storytelling unfolding throughout the evening. The ghostly fish tank is an Imagineering gem.
The beverage menu is entirely unique to the Destiny, with themed cocktails and wonderfully creative mocktails. It’s atmospheric, moody, and such a fun place to settle in for a late-night drink.
The Rose
The Rose is a chic lounge at the entrance of Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. Inspired by the fateful flower at the heart of the Beauty and the Beast story, The Rose is an idyllic setting for a pre-dinner aperitif or after-dinner cocktail.
Palo
Prepare to be pampered at this elegant, adults-only restaurant inspired by the lovable pomp and circumstance of Cogsworth, the enchanted clock from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. An evolution of the Palo restaurant that Disney cruisers already know and love, Palo Steakhouse offers a scrumptious selection of premium steaks and exquisite Italian dishes. The design of this space features dark wood detailing that is adorned with clockwork-inspired wall art. The layout offers oversized banquette seating or the option for a more intimate table that is adjacent to expansive windows offering stunning ocean views.

Enchanté
Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement celebrates the light and frivolity of Cogsworth’s quick-witted colleague, Lumiere, boasting a palette of blues and white brought to life through shimmering light fixtures made up of gold and glassy baubles. Guests discover these elegant design details celebrating the debonair candelabra all while enjoying a gourmet menu created by the three-star-Michelin Chef Lallement. One thing’s for sure, a dinner here evokes a certain “je ne sais quoi.”

Whether you’re savoring champagne under dim lights at De Vil’s, exploring supernatural cocktails in The Sanctum, or stopping into a café that feels straight out of a storybook, the adult experience onboard the Disney Destiny is extraordinary. You never feel tucked away or secondary… the ship invites adults to be part of the storytelling in a fresh, exciting way.
Not many clients initially ask me to plan an adults-only Disney Cruise, but every single one who has tried it has come back saying it was one of their favorite vacations ever. After this sailing, I wholeheartedly agree.
