Last week, I asked Whit what he’d like for one of his last suppers before summer officially comes to an end. His answer was immediate. “Pizzas on the Big Green Egg.”
We’ve been making homemade pizzas this way for years, and they never disappoint. I know I’ve shared them here many times before, but they’re one of those meals that always brings everyone to the table. They are more than just a meal, but feel like a social occasion too.
Whit had invited a friend over for dinner, so we picked up four rounds of fresh dough from our favorite local pizza shop. As the afternoon went on, plans changed and it ended up being just the three of us. Which left us with one extra pie to make. I thought, What’s the worst that could happen if I tried to turn it into dessert?
Honey grilled the crust, brushing it ever so lightly with olive oil and letting it cook for about five minutes until lightly browned and cooked through.
While it was still warm, I spread a generous layer of Nutella over the entire crust.
Then came the real magic.
I happened to have a jar of Biscoff Cookie Butter in the pantry, and if you’ve never tried it, let me tell you… it’s divine. Rather than spreading it evenly, I dotted little spoonfuls all over the Nutella. The warmth of the crust softened everything together, and every few bites you would stumble across a little pocket of that caramelized cookie flavor. Absolute perfection.
I finished it with sliced bananas, and that was that.

Y’all…It was a huge hit. I think we all agreed we may have liked it even better than the regular pizzas. And, needless to say, from now on we’ll be ordering one extra crust every pizza night.
