Musings + A Winner

It’s been waaaaay too long since I did a musings post!  A few weeks back I met two friends to celebrate a birthday at the neatest little coffee shop.  It’s called Chattahoochee Coffee Company and it is located in a Riverside apartment (condo?) complex near 285 and I75.  The coffee was good, the scenery was ah-mazing, and the company was outstanding :-)  I do believe they have limited parking AND you have to call at the gate to get let in, so I’d call them for all the deets before going.

I popped into school last week and out of the corner of my eye spied this.  I LOVE It!  My baby was on lunchroom clean up duty, a rotating job.  Another parent told me their school isn’t allowed to do this anymore due to complaints from parents.  I personally really appreciate that they get to learn a little life skill, are responsible for contributing to the cleanliness of their school, likely develop a little respect for the people that do this for a living, and are probably going to think twice before dumping stuff on the floor since they know they have to clean it up.  He also dresses himself every day in a single color.  Today was red.  Red jersey, red shorts, red Mickey pullover tied around his waist.  I’ve tried to sway him to better choices but he loves this look.  :-)

I had a 2-day work training all day Monday and Tuesday.  These beauties were on the lunch buffet.  Mmmmm…..

This was an image shared in my class.  I mean I LOVE it and want to recreate it with little CeeCee.  Coke can curlers.  I’ve seen it all!

Mother, Sister and I took CeeCee down to Disney for a few days a couple of weeks ago.  This actually happened…

I have been LIVING in this Lilly dress.  I really wish it would come out in more prints.  And I got a new winter handbag this year after 3 years of my last one.  I feel head over heels for this new Dooney x Disney 45th anniversary print.  I wear navy daily in the fall and winter and have loved carrying this one.

While on the Disney stuff, before the princess leg of our trip Honey and I had a few days just for the two of us.  It was originally intended to be for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon but…  it didn’t happen.  More on that later.

A new bakery opened near me.  Cute but meh.  Nothing can hold a candle to McEntyre’s in Smyrna.  I guess I’ll still be trekking over there every time I need a petit fours or donut boy.

My morning walks have been spectacular lately.  I know most Atlantan’s are ready for cold weather but it’s been perfect in my opinion.

The baby called me in his room saying that I “had to take a picture of something REALLY cool”.  I love these days.

We board the other baby at a place where you can watch them on video.  We never have any trouble picking her out of the crowd.  She’s always the the one running, jumping, etc.  HA!

John had his last elementary school musical this week.  Much to his supreme delight!!!  I guess the poor kid doesn’t realize they are required to do band, choir or orchestra in middle school.  He does not enjoy music, performing, or being on stage.  Ha!

Last but not least, the winner of my Basin Hair Bar giveaway is Kim who commented “My favorite beauty product is Philosophy’s Purity makeup remover. I use it everyday and it removes everything, including mascara. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry, it’s fairly inexpensive and lasts a long time. You can find it in sample sizes at Sephora or Ulta if you just want to give it a try. I love it!”  IF this is you, email me to claim your prize!!!!  By the way, I LOVED reading about your fave beauty products and am DEF going back to Oil of Olay since so many of you use it and love it.  If you didn’t read about the Basin bars, I insist that you go back and check them out.  They are SOOOO good!

With that, I’ve got to go get ready for the 6 boys I’m going to have all night in celebrating of the big 11!!  Oy!

Altar Server

Back in September, John expressed interest in attending the training for altar servers at church.  And, just a few weeks later, he had the honor of serving at his very first mass.  He was SO nervous, which is to be expected.  We arrived early enough to do a talk-through of his responsibilities, but it was… Read More
