Commencing Christmas

Every year on Black Friday, we forego midnight madness and big box bargains to don our holiday best, cue the sounds of the season, and commence our Christmas celebrations at some of the South’s most revered holiday institutions.

Our first stop is Phipps Plaza.  After the requisite Starbucks sojourn, we make our lists, check them twice and belly up to the South’s most renowned jolly old elf for a few memorable minutes of animated holiday chatter and paparazzi-ish photo taking.

After popping in a few shoppes and taking our traditional family photos behind the big tree, our party of nine then makes their way to the Nordstrom Cafe for a delectable lunch.  I am still drooling over my warm goat cheese salad…

Fat and happy, we shuttle over to Lenox Square for the riding of the Macy’s Pink Pig, a train ride through a life-sized story book featuring Pricilla the pig and her friends.

And with that, we head home to fire up the Christmas lights and sip on hot chocolate.

It IS the most wonderful time of the year!!!
xoxo
