Little Ensembles

Mother has evidently been working her fingers to the bone, sewing up precious little ensembles for her three grandsons.  Twice in the last week I received a present package bearing her return address and both times I squealed with delight!  I just want to go and hug her neck!!

She thoughtfully decks out her creations with all the little extras you don’t always find in the store – covered buttons, appliques, pockets and tabs.   Yes, please!  And it goes without saying that Sister received a matching outfit for the littlest Bird in our crew.

This last one is one of my all time faves.  Get this…these were outfits I purchased for the littles from Ragsland last year.  John still fits into his shirt and shorts but, in it’s original form, Cookie’s was a bubble that was all too small.  So I asked Mother to cut the name off of the bubble and sew it onto a white shortall.  And when she delivered it with the contrasting orange stitching and covered buttons from more of the bubble fabric my jaw hit the floor.  It’s just too much!  And now I got two years of wear out of the outfits!

Thanks, Mother!  Once again you’ve outdone yourself.
xoxo

Days Like This

Honey and I scooted off on a date night to the Braves game last night.  Back when dates were plentiful and littles were not, a ball game would have been just about the last place I’d want to spend a night out.  But these days, before I’ve even heard his proposition on where we might… Read More

Oatland Island

While Mother, Daddy-O, Cookie and I lolled our days away at the beach, dock or Savannah must-shops, the PCP spent some of his days at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center camp.  Housing all sorts of critters that couldn’t be returned to the wild for one reason or another, Oatland is home to everything from wolves… Read More
