I Love {Ticket to Ride}

December 29, 2014July 31, 2015

If you’ve been following along with our Instagram escapades, you’ll know that Christmas 2014 was the holiday of Ticket To Ride*.   John received the game from my parents for Christmas and we have played it every day, multiple times a day, since then!  The adults even stayed up late after the littles were fast… Read More

Sunday Supper {Straw and Hay with Gorgonzola}

December 29, 2014July 31, 2015

After a holiday hiatus from any non-required cooking, it felt SO good to spend a little time in the kitch with my pal Ina.  We dined on her Straw and Hay with Gorgonzola and, while it was much richer than I’m used too, it was perfection on a cold, rainy winter night. Straw and Hay… Read More

Chalk Project {December}

December 28, 2014July 31, 2015

Back before the break I spent a morning in Whit’s class and grabbed their December pictures for the end of the year books his teachers are putting together. It was cold and raining outside so we taped bulletin board paper to the wall and wrote on that in chalk. This kid is such a clown. … Read More

Time Capsule Ornaments

December 26, 2014July 31, 2015

Every year while we are in Savannah for Christmas we have a tradition of making ornaments for the littles’ trees.  I love that they have these sweet memories of our family Christmases.  This year’s was super easy, something fun for all ages, and one of my all time favorites…   Time Capsule Christmas Ornaments Plastic… Read More

Merry Christmas

December 26, 2014July 31, 2015

I hope that each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas. We spent the entire day playing games, eating, and just being a family.   In other words, it was perfection.   Merry Christmas, y’all! xoxo By dixiedelights | Filed under Uncategorized | Tags: Christmas, Savannah Share

Twas the Night Before Christmas

December 25, 2014July 31, 2015

And finally, not a creature was stirring!   The adults had our annual gift wrapping extravaganza after reading Christmas stories and tucking the littles into bed at 7:30. Earlier in the evening we bid farewell to our elf Scout, ate a yummy King Ranch Chicken casserole, checked on Santa’s location via NORAD, donned our jammies,… Read More

Christmas Eve Eve

December 24, 2014July 28, 2015

We had a bit of cabin fever after sticking around inside all day yesterday, so we ventured out in the rain (again) for a divine lunch at B. Tillman in Byrd Cookie Co. Sister had the yummy Caesar Salad with fried chicken and Mother and I both went with the grilled pimento cheese.  As usual,… Read More

A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍 Back in my hometow A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍

Back in my hometown celebrating the daughter of my sorority big sis, one of my dearest friends since the day we met at the ZTA house during rush.

For over three decades, we’ve shared so much life together. I can still remember decorating A’s nursery, celebrating birthdays and cheering her on through every stage along the way.

And now here we are, celebrating her wedding weekend in beautiful Savannah.

The entire weekend celebration was absolutely sensational, filled with faith, family, friends, happy tears, lots of laughter and more love than I can possibly put into words.

My heart is so full. 🤍 All of our best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. 🤍
The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O. 🤍

We ate all our favorite things, visited all our favorite places and enjoyed the kind of time together that never lasts quite long enough.

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
