First Day of First Grade

August 13, 2012July 30, 2015

Well, he’s all settled in to his new class and I feel like I left a little piece of my heart at the school up the street.  *sigh* He woke up around four in the morning and crawled into bed right between us.  I couldn’t really sleep after that – just snuggling my sweet first… Read More

First Grade Eve

August 13, 2012July 28, 2015

Twas the night before first grade and all through the house… I am scurrying around like a half-crazed and rabid mouse! Like last year, I ran the PCP up to the school for a few “first day” pics.  It’s really much easier this way – for one, I’m not fighting a thousand other students and… Read More

Back-to-School Backyard Bash

August 12, 2012July 28, 2015

We hosted a little back-to-school backyard bash this afternoon for a hand full of John’s first grade buddies…think ice cream sundaes, slip ‘n sliding and a gaggle of water gun wielding, sugared up six year olds!  I didn’t do a single solitary thing to prep for this shindig until about noon – which makes me… Read More

Meet and Greet and Treats {Free Printable}

August 9, 2012July 28, 2015

We spent our day yesterday anxiously awaiting the posting of class lists for the new school year.  At four on the dot we were in the school parking lot pouring over the list of Mrs. B’s first grade class!!  I snapped a quick pic of the list and last night we looked everyone up in… Read More

The Old Try

August 8, 2012July 28, 2015

Earlier this Spring, I purchased a few posters from The Old Try – a Southern print shop North of Mason Dixon’s.  Every single aspect of ordering from The Old Try was so remarkably remarkable that I’ve been remiss to put off this posting for so long! I spent a great deal of time pouring through… Read More

TECH Fan Day

August 7, 2012July 28, 2015

The littles were beyond excited to attend their very first Fan Day at Georgia Tech.  They were already beside themselves with the bounce houses and free throw areas, so meeting the football team, cheerleaders, dance team and Buzz was just the icing on the cake!       When they opened up the field to meet… Read More

Southern Porch Reveal {Before & After}

August 6, 2012July 28, 2015

Our fantastic contractor finished up our porch just in the nick of time for our annual Fourth of July soiree and since were were out of town so much afterwards, I have finally had the time to take down the red, white and blue and feather the space with it’s more permanent look! If you… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
