Dixie Delights - musings, goings & doings of a so-southern girl

Savannah: Farewell

August 5, 2012July 28, 2015

We spent our last morning in Savannah hanging out on the dock (and coercing the littles into a few sweet pictures.)  With school, tennis, baseball and GT football all just mere weeks away, I’m saddened to think it could be a couple of months before we make it back down South.  Many memories were made… Read More

Savannah: Beach Bound

August 5, 2012July 28, 2015

We spent the whole rain-free day soaking up the sun down at Tybee – the babies building countless sand castles and sand creatures while the PCP spent hours on his skim board (much of the time with two little ones on his heels.)      Just one more day in Savannah before heading home… xoxo… Read More

Savannah: Baby’s Big Day

August 4, 2012July 28, 2015

With the PCP off at Sea Camp, we decided to treat the babies (yes, I realize they are three years old) to a day out on the town.  Our first stop was the Build-a-Bear Workshop at Oglethorpe Mall! After a marathon session of deciding on which creatures we’d bring to life, the boys loved operating… Read More

Savannah: Sea Camp

August 3, 2012July 28, 2015

For the third summer in a row, John spent time at Tybee Island Marine Science Center’s Sea Camp.  I must say that each day when I pick him up, he is more talkative and excited about all the things he learned than at any other camp or after any day at school– and that’s saying… Read More

Savannah: Girls Day Out

August 2, 2012July 28, 2015

Mother was a doll to mind the littles ALL DAY while Sister and I shopped, dined and primped! Our day started at Christopher’s Salon where I had my hair highlighted and cut.  Christopher and JB run the two chair salon out of their home and Mother and Daddy-O have been raving about them for ages. … Read More

Savannah: The Beach

July 31, 2012July 28, 2015

We spent a wonderfully cloudy afternoon rollicking in the waves down at Tybee.  99% of the time, life with the three boys looks pretty much like this… …but occasionally I am able to snag a sweet moment like this… And while it’s pretty much a miracle to have two littles looking at the camera and… Read More

Savannah: One Last Summer Visit

July 31, 2012July 28, 2015

With school starting in a few short weeks (say it isn’t so!), we’re making one last trip down to Savannah for the summer.  After practicing for hours on end in the car, the PCP was absolutely giddy to get to historic Leopold’s Ice Cream Parlor to participate in the “I Pledge” program where children are… Read More

A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍 Back in my hometow A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍

Back in my hometown celebrating the daughter of my sorority big sis, one of my dearest friends since the day we met at the ZTA house during rush.

For over three decades, we’ve shared so much life together. I can still remember decorating A’s nursery, celebrating birthdays and cheering her on through every stage along the way.

And now here we are, celebrating her wedding weekend in beautiful Savannah.

The entire weekend celebration was absolutely sensational, filled with faith, family, friends, happy tears, lots of laughter and more love than I can possibly put into words.

My heart is so full. 🤍 All of our best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. 🤍
The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O. 🤍

We ate all our favorite things, visited all our favorite places and enjoyed the kind of time together that never lasts quite long enough.

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
