Walk of Fame 2023

May 31, 2023May 25, 2023

We’ve celebrated a LOT of things over the years, but the last day of school Walk of Fame is my most favorite of all. It’s not elaborate or expensive, but it makes me happier, prouder and more excited than any of the others and is a small thing to remind the boys of how much… Read More

Celebrating Mother’s Day

May 14, 2023May 15, 2023

Today was just about as perfect as a day could be, spending it with my own Mother, Sister (who is one of the best moms I know) and my own two boys. It is hard to find words monumental enough to thank Marme for the sacrifices she made for us, the confidence she instilled in… Read More

Musings

April 29, 2023April 30, 2023

We had a busy lacrosse weekend. Whit finished up his last game on senior select. Just when I posted this was also the end of his lacrosse career, I realized he is playing on a summer team. HA! That will be the end of his lacrosse as he looks forward to pursing new things in… Read More

Prom 2023 {Dressing Boys for Prom}

March 24, 2023March 21, 2023

If you remember back to John’s first big high school event, Homecoming 2022, I wanted to do something special to help commemorate the evening. I ended up giving him his first bottle of cologne and every time I see it in his bathroom I remember that night. As we were preparing for prom, a little… Read More

Prom 2023 {Enchanted Garden Dinner}

March 23, 2023March 21, 2023

My role in helping the kids organize for prom was planning their dinner! There were a few proms in our area on the same night and we knew finding a restaurant that could seat 24 on a Saturday would be tough. And so, I set everything up for the kids to have dinner at the… Read More

Prom 2023 {Junior Picture Party}

March 22, 2023March 21, 2023

In the absolute blink of an eye, John and his group of incredible young people were off to their Junior prom. Where does the time go? With tireless help from the “prom planning moms”, the kids started at our club for pictures on the golf course. They then moved inside for a lovely dinner. Afterwards,… Read More

John Turns Seventeen

November 26, 2022November 26, 2022

It’s awfully hard to believe, but John is celebrating his seventeenth birthday today. Where did the years go? I am so proud of the young man he has become, and for the supreme blessing of being his mom. I vividly remember the moment I first laid eyes on him. And now, I often glimpse him… Read More

One of my favorite Christmas gifts finally made it One of my favorite Christmas gifts finally made its debut. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 I’ve been waiting months to hang this beautiful 250th anniversary flag, and it was worth every bit of the wait.

Today on Dixie Delights, I’m kicking off my patriotic home tour and sharing all the details from this room.

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
