Christmas Eve in Savannah 2025

December 24, 2025December 26, 2025

Christmas Eve in Savannah was absolutely gorgeous this year. We woke up slow, with copious amounts of coffee sipped on the porch. At 70 degrees and sunny, it felt like the most magical Southern winter day. After a lazy start, we spent time walking through the historic district – side streets draped in garlands, live… Read More

The Morning after Seventeen

December 16, 2025December 15, 2025

Be gentle with me today. This one felt particularly emotional. It’s the post I wrote on Whit’s birthday but didn’t publish. If you’ve been here for any length of time, you know I love birthdays. All birthdays, yes, but especially my boys’ birthdays. I look forward to them with the same excitement I did when… Read More

Celebrating Seventeen

December 12, 2025December 12, 2025

For seventeen years he has brought joy in ways I never could have imagined. And even today, I still find myself overcome with gratitude that I get to be his mother. He’s funny and quirky, smart and honest, sensitive, laid-back and wonderfully independent. His dry, witty humor is years beyond where it should be. He… Read More

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 27, 2025November 28, 2025

Happy Thanksgiving, friends. We enjoyed the most wonderfully low-key day. It was exactly what all of our hearts needed after a full season of work, school, travel and life moving at full throttle. The morning started slow, with a cozy breakfast casserole in front of the Macy’s parade, pajamas still on, mimosas in hand, and… Read More

Two Decades of Loving John!

November 26, 2025November 27, 2025

Somehow, some way… my first baby is twenty. Two whole decades of loving him, learning from him and watching him grow into a young man I admire more than words could ever express. I am so proud of the man he has become, and for the supreme blessing of being his mom. Twenty feels big.… Read More

Halfway Through the Holiday

November 25, 2025November 26, 2025

Honey and I intended to sneak away with the boys for a short, relaxing getaway for the first half of the break week. With my recent work travel and Honey’s project deadlines, the last couple of months were absolutely gobbled up. As much as I crave family time away, I also try to always keep… Read More

A Whole Childhood of Remembering Matthew

November 22, 2025November 22, 2025

Eighteen years ago today was Thanksgiving morning.Eighteen years ago today was also the first and last time I held my son, Matthew. He was the tiniest baby I had ever seen, and also the most perfect. I spent the few hours I was given memorizing every tiny feature of his face, tracing his miniature fingers… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
