How Does Your Garden Grow?

June 1, 2018May 18, 2018

We updated our garden last spring with raised beds (WalMart).  The iron fence was constructed from the original porch railings on our home.  I went “crazy” planting colored annuals in my pots this year and have two white knock out rose bushes here as well. Over the years I have honed down what we plant… Read More

Sunday Supper {Caprese Salad}

June 25, 2017June 22, 2017

Our go-to salad this supper couldn’t be easier to put together!  I am sure I’m not telling y’all anything you don’t know, but I figure it was worth mentioning since it has never occurred to me to make a caprese salad at home. It all started when I ordered one at Disney and the boys… Read More

The Delightful Home {Exterior, Paint Colors + Landscape}

June 2, 2017May 28, 2020

May 2020: THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED It has been quite a few years since I shared the work that we did on the exterior of our 1964 home and answered what is hands down the most frequent question I get on the blog, on social media and in real life… what are your paint… Read More

Raised Garden Beds + Flower Garden {40×41}

May 17, 2017May 10, 2017

I’m still chipping away at the remaining items on my 40×41 bucket list, although I’m well past my own deadline of my 41st birthday :-).  This one is a two-for as I knocked out #3: Plant a flower cutting garden (because I have a black thumb and have always wanted one) AND #5: Do something fabulous… Read More

Favorite Plants + Tips for Every Black Thumb

April 9, 2017May 17, 2017

I mentioned last week that we are so looking forward to Whit’s first communion in May.  Well, there’s nothing like a party to spur you into action, right?!  I got right to work this weekend planting SPRING in my pots!!  I have to say, it felt SO good and looks SO good already.  I wanted to… Read More

America, America

June 25, 2015June 22, 2017

I can’t think of a more patriotic way to mark America’s birthday and our love for our country than flying the glorious Old Glory. I keep a tub of flags in all shapes and sizes and reuse them year after year. They only take a few minutes to put out because we leave the mini… Read More

Summer Whites

June 18, 2015July 30, 2015

When we moved in, the homes on either side of us were still well loved by their original owners.  In fact, we became very close to Miss J (she was kind of a fixture in our day) and we were all saddened when she passed away a while back. If you’ll remember, the big mirror… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
