Classic Christmas Home Tour 2025 {The Den}

Today I’m back with a photo tour of my personal favorite Christmas room of all – our den. This space just makes me so happy, and I spend as much time as possible here during the holiday season. Along with the kitchen, our den and office are the most-used rooms in our home, and I love making them as merry and festive as possible.

I’ve had most of my holiday décor for many years and only add or tweak a couple of things from year to year. I still gravitate toward traditional greenery and classic Christmas colors. They feel timeless and warm, and they truly make this room shine.

The biggest change this year wasn’t décor at all, but the furniture arrangement! We shifted the sofa in front of the window, which opened up the room beautifully and made space for two slipper chairs to come out of hiding. It gives us extra seating for puzzle nights, movie marathons and gatherings. To make room for the tree, my French linen chair migrated to the office.

The tree in our family room holds all of our favorite ornaments.  From little snowmen crafted by tiny hands to ornaments carried home from special vacations, this tree is loaded with memories.  It is always a joy to unbox them at the start of each Christmas season!

Over at the fireplace, the stockings are collected from Ballard Designs over the years as our family grew – pups included. The wood monograms on the stockings are from Build A Cross Canton.

One of my favorite Christmas things is the magic light wand that is set up to turn on our den tree and garland.  I have given them as gifts a few times and the recipients always, always love them.  <3  All of my other trees are on remote switched linked at the bottom of this post.  It is one of the best investments I’ve ever made!!

The coffee table gets a festive flower arrangement (camelias from my yard at the moment!), a bowl of candy, a fragrant candle and a stack of seasonal magazines. My favorite Christmas candle is HERE.

As I unpack Christmas décor, I repack the boxes with my everyday items. It streamlines the season and allows me to swap in the boys’ Santa photos around the room, which I love so much.

My plaid pillows were all collected over the years at Homegoods.  The tree pillows are from Everyday Occasions.

When I rearranged the furniture this year, one of my goals was to bring a little more symmetry into the room. I moved in two similarly sized antique tables – one a treasure passed down from Mother (it belonged to her uncle when she was a child) and the other a find from many years ago that has floated around our home in various spots. Paired with matching lamps, the look is classic. On the left table, I tucked the sweetest photo snow globes we made during winter craft days with friends. They catch the light just right and make me smile every time I walk through the room.

In true “Mother fashion,” I tuck Christmas books all over the house this time of year. A little stack sits atop the garden stool at the end of the sofa.

On the table to the right side of the sofa, I’ll be honest… I originally ran out of “things” to style it with. But as always, Mother saved the day. She arrived for Thanksgiving with two beautifully framed photos and they could not be more perfect in this little corner. I also placed my Grandma O’s angel music box here along with the Peanut Man full of candies.

The banquette is still used often for puzzles and games, or just extra seating. Mother made the boys’ silhouette pillows years ago.  They move around the house frequently.

I had our Christmas card picture printed onto a board a couple of years ago (Shutterfly) and absolutely love it displayed here.

Over on the TV wall the antlers really work this time of year, although they are a permanent fixture in the room.  :-)  I downloaded the art from etsy a couple of years ago. The record player is almost always spinning with the Elf soundtrack vinyl and the dice game is a holdover from John’s Sweet Sixteen – it still gets plenty of use.

I had a bunch of santa and elf hats, headbands and other gear also from John’s Sweet Sixteen . I put them in a basket for when inspiration strikes. :-)

One of my most treasured Christmas pieces sits on the wall by the kitchen – a precious nativity from the BlessedMommaToBabyGirls Instagram sale years ago. It is one of the first things I put out each season and one of the last things I pack away.

Here’s one last peek of my favorite space!

It’s hard to believe Christmas is in 14 days!
