Sunday Supper {Cheddar & Chutney Grilled Cheese}

Tonight’s Sunday Supper was the ultimate comfort food, but elevated in the most delightful Ina Garten way. I finally made her Cheddar & Chutney Grilled Cheese, a recipe that’s been sitting on my radar for ages. The only thing holding me back was the elusive chutney! Every time I looked, I could never seem to find it.

Well, last week in a little local gift shop, there it was… Major Gray’s Chutney by Stonewall Kitchen, practically winking at me from the shelf. Into the basket it went, and onto our table this weekend. Whit and I have since decided we are going to try some of their other chutneys to add a little variety to our grilled cheese nights!

I made ours on slices of my homemade sourdough, which honestly grills up and holds up better than any bread I’ve ever used. It’s the ideal partner for all that melty goodness.

Ok, so what did we think?! Honey announced he still prefers his grilled cheese the traditional way, but Whit and I were instant fans. The sweet-savory bite of the chutney with the sharpness of the cheese is chef’s kiss. Here’s to another Ina recipe that did not disappoint.
