I’ve got two fun back to school breakfasts to share, but the day got away from me and, before I knew what happened, here we are at 6:00 PM.
We had a big senior breakfast the first day of school, but I still wanted to do a little something special for Whit. At the eleventh hour I ran through the Taco Bell drive through (one of his favorites that I rarely get), threw them on a cute platter, and texted him while he was on the bus saying “I can’t wait to taco-bout high school!”.
It brought out the biggest smile and slowed him down enough to talk about his day. I’ve said for years that he is a man of few words and he’s never been my child that comes home on day 1 raving about it. He said it was “fine”, that he had classmates to eat lunch with, and that the bus and homeroom were the best parts of the day. I’ll take it.
