The boys were up and out the door for their final day on the slopes and I stayed behind for a spa day! I started off with three miles on the tread and a favorite podcast, with this gorgeous view sprawling in front f me.
Afterwards, I checked in at the spa about ninety minutes early. I enjoyed the sauna, steam room, cold shower, hot tub and relaxation room. It was ahhhh-mazing! Zero regrets about scaling back my ski days to enjoy resort time.
I enjoyed the California Wildflower Ritual. It was complete and total relaxation. It also felt great after using some rarely flexed muscles on the slopes.
I enjoyed lunch at the spa pool and then showered and dressed for the rest of the day.
The boys came back around 2PM to enjoy one last afternoon and evening at the resort. At the top of Whit’s list was meeting Monty the ambassador dog! He greets guests for scratches and snuggles daily at 3PM.
We did one final afternoon of gourmet s’mores before the boys headed back to the room.
Honey and I enjoyed happy hour in the Vista Lounge and took our Montage Mistletoe pictures. 21 Christmases of mistletoe kisses with this guy!
Some of our dearest friends were also in town, with our trip overlapping by just two nights. We spent the evening laughing, telling stories and having dinner in our suite. I had to triple check this number a few times, because it seemed so big, but we’ve been friends for 27 years! I met Brooke at Georgia Tech orientation and we ended up ZTA pledge sisters. Honey is a year older than Brad and they were SAE fraternity brothers! Before our kids all had schedules and school we used to spend time with them each summer in Florida. It’s been years, but they got along just fine!
We stayed up late and all slept in our last morning. We landed back in Atlanta around 9:30 PM for a twelve hour stint before heading from the mountains of Utah to the marshes of Georgia for Christmas vacation part two!!
