In the blink of an eye, we went from the Diego Car…

to the Radio Flyer…

to playing in the front seat of Daddy’s brand new jeep…

… to the driver’s seat!!!

Clear the roads, Atlanta, we’ve got a newly minted fifteen year old with a learner’s permit burning a hole in his pocket!
After three hours at the DMV, where literally every cliche was in action (the power even went out), this kid drove me (part of the way) home! It was white knuckles the whole way.

Which, Mother seems to think is some sort of karma… :-)

Learning to drive for me included many, many mishaps. I can’t go into details because judgement is harsh on the internet these days, but bumpers, a family of ducks, and being left on the side of the road by own father were all involved. Me teaching someone to drive is a little like the blind leading the blind.
So far, John seems much more level headed and confident. It’s surreal to reverse these roles, where my life is suddenly in the hands of a teenager. Wish us luck, y’all!
