A Hint of Fall

I don’t decorate for fall for a couple of reasons.  First, because “fall” is really just the end of summer here in Georgia. If I were to line my steps with pumpkins in August, they would all be rotten by September.  But the primary reason is that I LOVE Halloween and go all out for that.  So, it seems silly to decorate for fall and then turn around and take that down to put up all the spooky things.  That being said, I did pick up some sunflowers at Trader Joe’s and light my Animal Kingdom Lodge candle from Spireside Candles.

The candle is a great fall like scent, although it doesn’t remind me of Animal Kingdom Lodge per se.   It is now called Rustic Hall with the sweet, earthy and comforting scent of vanilla infused sandalwood.  My everyday favorite is Clover Fields and smells just like Grand Floridian!

The vase is Lilly Pulitzer and the tray is Target.  I love both of them and use them almost always on my kitchen table.  Mother gave me the honey keeper.

I used the leftovers from this arrangement to make a tiny one in the den.

For a real life version, just zoom out to also find the THREE remote controls needed to operate this one tv.  :-)

Happy fall, y’all! If only some cooler fall temps would make their way to Georgia, that would be fantastic.

Make This, Not That {Cinnamon Breakfast Items}

For the second installment of Make This, Not That I’m tackling cinnamon breakfast items. Last weekend I spent a whole morning in the kitchen making the Cinnamon Squares from the Magnolia Table cookbook.  They were not easy.  The dough was incredibly sticky and there wasn’t any indication in the recipe of what to expect with it or… Read More
