Summer in Savannah {Starland Cafe + Byrd’s Cookie Company}

I shared favorite Tybee Island eats yesterday and thought I’d give y’all a peek at the new-ish Starland Cafe and updated Byrd’s Cookie Company.

Starland Cafe

Starland Cafe is a delightful sandwich, soup and salad shop located in a renovated house in Savannah’s Starland District.  I had the Kitchen Sink salad and it was wonderful!  Mother is a frequent flier here and assures me that everything is delightful.   Parking is on the street and could be tough at peak lunch times.

Byrd’s Cookie Company

I’ve talked about Savannah’s iconic Byrd’s Cookie Company countless times on the blog.  These are the small, bite sized cookies that are synonymous with Savannah!  They recently moved to a new building and, sadly, closed the cafe.  You can still sample favorites from the Cookie Bar and load up on all of your favorite flavors.  (My faves are Key Lime Coolers, Scotch Oatmeal and Benne Wafers.)   They also have a cooler full of ice cream cookie sandwiches, which are a favorite of ours from their old downtown cafe location.

After a leisurely breakfast on the porch, we headed in town for shopping and dinner.  CeeCee was the first one… Read More
