On My Bedside {Onyx Storm}

After months of anticipation, Onyx Storm finally landed! This is the third book in The Empyrean Series by Rebecca Yarros. You can read my recap on the first two books here: Fourth Wing & Iron Flame. Honey and I listened to Iron Flame Part 2 on a long drive to Orlando last month to catch up. Then, we dove in on Iron Flame. I can count the series we’ve both loved on one hand so this is rare and delightful.

Because I don’t want to risk any spoilers whatsoever, suffice it to say I LOVED THIS BOOK! I was thrilled at being reunited with “friends” from the previous two books. There was a wee redundant part in the middle that I found myself flying through, but was otherwise perfection. I have enjoyed debriefing with friends that are also hooked…. sharing thoughts on what comes next.

After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty.

Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves―her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.

They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find―the truth.

But a storm is coming…and not everyone can survive its wrath.

What’s on your bedside?

The Rose Bowl

I’ve wanted a rose bowl for YEARS! I’ve eyed the verrrrry pricey Lismore one but never could bite the bullet on the price. She saw I bought one on Amazon recently and called me to say “return that”, promising she would “find” me one. Well, I was just thrilled when Mother arrived last weekend with… Read More
