Disney Cruise Line {Boarding the Disney Dream}

I’m back today with part two of our epic adventure to Rome with Adventures by Disney and Italy and Greece on Disney Cruise Line. I’ve been sharing our cruises since CeeCee was an infant and the boys were in preschool and have detailed out every experience from babies to preschoolers to high schoolers to multi gen to a couples getaway. This trip, I look forward to sharing the Disney Cruise Line experience in Europe PLUS what it is like for young adults and older teens!

Our Adventure Guides rode with us all the way to the port, and walked us as far as they could to the last security check-point. We were extra thankful to have them as the port unexpectedly closed the morning of our arrival and they were able to detour us to snacks, shopping and a rest point rather than sitting idle at port.

Boarding the Disney Dream

Our embarkation process was quick and flawless and we nearly skipped to the ship we were so excited to get onboard!

Concierge Welcome Lunch

Concierge guests start their day with a welcome lunch in Royal Palace.

Disney Dream 1-Bedroom Suite

As soon as lunch was completed, we were notified that our room was ready! The suite is a luxurious space. The main living room area features a desk and a murphy bed that is pulled down each evening. A curtain makes this a separate sleeping space. Moving further into the room, an open concept sitting / dining space runs the length of the stateroom. The sofa converts to a bed in the evening and makes the second divided sleeping space.

The bedroom also closes off completely with sliding doors. It features a king bed, TV, vanity and luxurious bathroom!

The entry hallway has a walk in closet, plus to additional closets and a full bath!

An extended verandah runs the length of the room and is an incredible respite for soaking in salt air and ocean breezes!

Here you can see the room turned down for the night.

The stateroom will be updated when the ship goes into dry dock in September! I can’t wait to see it!

Concierge Lounge

After settling in, we were off to the concierge lounge to meet our hosts for the week. There are SO MANY benefits to sailing concierge with Disney. You can read about them here:

The lounge in the Dream is set for expansion and renovation in dry dock. It is a lovely, quite respite from the hustle and bustle of the ship. Here, you will find food and beverage offerings all day, from breakfast through 10PM. Open bar occurs from 5-10PM daily. Best of all, your concierge hosts are always available to assist with anything you could possibly need!

After grabbing a drink, we headed up to the Concierge Sun Deck for the afternoon. This space will also be expanded in dry dock.

Prima Notte at Palo

Now that John is an adult, we were thrilled to include him in the spectacular grown up experiences on the ship. Do not fret about Whit, he had loads to do himself! We had the best time at Prima Notte at Palo. I’ll share all of the details in a future post, but for now, this was a lovely way to start the voyage.

We arrive in Naples tomorrow and have a full day port adventure on the horizon!
