Mad Tea Party {Alice in Wonderland Birthday}

August 23, 2016August 23, 2016

Hold on to your hats, y’all… I am finally, after seven long months, going to share pictures from CeeCee’s Mad Tea Party birthday soiree.  It’s not that I didn’t want to share, but getting pics out of Sister is like getting gold out of Fort Knox.  :-) The party was at Sister’s club and CeeCee… Read More

A is for Apple After School Snack

August 9, 2016September 6, 2016

One of my favorite traditions is to have a special snack waiting on the littles after their first day back to school.  I first did this five years ago when John started Kindergarten.  I was so weepy and nervous and it gave me something to do while I missed him.  Little did I know at the… Read More

Sunday Supper {Mint Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Cake}

June 26, 2016July 12, 2020

One of Honey’s most favorite desserts of all time is mint chocolate chip ice cream.  Serve it up in cake form and he is over the moon.  Since we were eating out for his Father’s Day din din, I took time that afternoon to make him a dessert I knew he’d love – a Mint… Read More

Watermelon Cookie Pie

May 28, 2016

We wrapped up the last day of school with our annual Walk of Fame and a sweet summertime snack on the porch.  I went with a watermelon theme and made the cutest little watermelon inspired fruit pizza tart to go along with it.  I mean, it’s hardly a celebrating without something slightly naughty to go… Read More

A Sweet Summer Kickoff

May 27, 2016May 5, 2017

I shared our annual last day of school Walk of Fame yesterday and wanted to pop in with the special summer kickoff snack that rounded out our celebration!  I usually do something fun and festive on both the first and last days of school.  I try to use stuff I already have around the house and,… Read More

A Dark Side Star Wars Soiree

May 19, 2016January 22, 2018

Our favorite sith celebrated seven in galactic style last weekend!! As usual, Sister completely outdid herself on making the gym party amazing! It’s incredible what some tissue tassels, confetti and balloons can do. The cake is by Bee Caked and was a show stopper!  Jay requested a red velvet layer (totally normal for 7 year olds, right?)… Read More

In the Shop {Welcome to Summer}

May 16, 2016May 5, 2017

My littles love to give their school friends a little “welcome to summer” type treat at the end of the school year.  I generally scout the dollar store for something to give and then create a tag to go with it.  In past years I’ve shared the Hope Your Summer is a Scream tags on… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
