Our Haunted Halloween Home Tour continues today in the dining room!
I just love how the table turned out this year! I change it every year, but reuse a lot of the same elements.
If you think about a table in layers, start from the bottom and work your way up. I started with a black spiderweb tablecloth from Target (had to put two together with my leaf in). I rarely use tablecloths, but this one jumped out at me in Target. When I was back a couple of weeks later I had still been thinking about it so I got it. (That’s always a good test for me.)
Next I ran moss down the center of the table. It was in a bag I already had from Michael’s. I’ve used it for different things over the year and save it with my Halloween decor. I have a bunch of candlesticks that go with my china. I used two different styles of black tapers, primarily because I already had 4 and needed four more. It is also an easy way to give more variation in height – buy different sizes candles.
The two cachepots were from Pottery Barn a few years ago. I used them for this table since they had a distressed look.
With the candlesticks and flowers in place, I added all of my mini ceramic pumpkins (dollar spot a few years ago) and skeleton hands (also Target). I briefly thought about spray painting the hands gold but ended up loving them in their “natural” state for this table.
All of the china, crystal and silver are things we use regularly. I always get asked about the plates – Mother gave them to me years and years ago. They are Spode. The spider drink stirrers were from the dollar bin at Target this year.
Over on the sideboard I have a bowl of eyeballs. They were also from Grandin Road last year and are really creepy in person!
Happy Halloween, y’all! Thanks for stopping by.
