The Disney Wish {Disney Cruise Line is for Adults Too!}

Honey and I set sail on the beautiful Disney Wish last week. We are platinum level cruisers, with ten different voyages under our belt, but this was our very first without the boys. To sum it up in three words, “it was marvelous!” We spent our time doing allllll the adult things and had the BEST time. Disney Cruise Line is for adults, too. This post will share all of the fun details! We didn’t eat a single meal in a dining room or at the buffet, and we stuck to primarily adult activities. BUT the links below share all of the fun family activities from my July cruise on the Wish. :-)

Day 1: Embarkation

We were concierge stateroom guests on this cruise and it was absolute perfection. At port we waited in the concierge lounge before being the very first guests on the ship!

Our stateroom was ready at embarkation, so we headed there to drop our day bags, freshen up and take in our home away from home for the next three nights. The rooms are stunning and we LOVE that concierge staterooms on the Wish have a king bed for the adults.

Our next stop was the concierge lounge for a sail away drink and bite to eat.

We changed into swim suits and spent our time lounging on the concierge sun deck.

I have already dined in all of the family dining rooms (they are amazing) and we know we will be back with the family in May so we decided on this cruise we would only do “adult” things. We took our supper in the concierge lounge – they have a dedicated galley and a small menu of hot items made to order throughout the day.

After dinner we joined our fellow cruisers in the Grand Hall for the tree lighting! This was the very first Very Merry Christmastime voyage of the season – and for the Wish.

We ended our night with two of our favorite activities: Wish Quest and Silent DJ!

Day 2: At Sea

Due to the hurricane, we did not port in Nassau but enjoyed a full day at sea instead. I was up early for coffee and breakfast in the lounge. Honey slept in and then went for a run.

Our morning was spent soaking up the sun on the concierge deck. It was so quiet and peaceful and I read almost an entire book! Two of my favorite things were the dole whip smoothies and cool towels.

We popped back in the lounge for lunch.

And then spent the entirety of our afternoon at Senses Spa and the Rainforest Room! I don’t even know what treatments Honey picked but I luxuriated with a mineral massage and facial. Heavenly!

Our final event of the night was a sensational dinner at Palo Steakhouse. Every moment of it was special, memorable, fun AND delicious. We even ran into my friend Rachel!

We took a late night stroll around the ship, before a nightcap in the lounge.

Day 3: Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places on earth and it is always such a TREAT to spend a day here! But first, we fueled up on breakfast in the lounge.

The beautiful Disney Wish docked at Castaway Cay.

We reserved a cabana at the family beach for the day and it just elevates the experience of the whole day! The cabanas are quite elusive and only a lucky few concierge guests manage to get one. We were thrilled!

We spent the entire day here napping, sunning, floating, reading and soaking it all in.

Back on the ship, I enjoyed a bite to eat in the lounge while Honey showered. I’ll be honest, Cookies at Castaway is not my favorite so I was starving.

I showered and then joined him back in the lounge for happy hour and a spectacular sunset. I caught the rainbow from our stateroom!

We dined in Enchante and savored every minute and every bite. It was a phenomenal experience.

We stopped in the Grand Hall for more Christmas tree pics.

And, we changed and grabbed to go cocktails from the lounge before hitting up more favorite adult activities!

Day 4: See Ya Real Soon

Our last morning came much too quickly, the hazard of a 3-night cruise. We enjoyed one last breakfast in the lounge before the long drive home. This adult only cruise was luxurious, restorative and fun. Disney Cruise Line is not just for kids or families. We booked a placeholder and will do it all again in 2023! We just need to book the grands to watch the boys. :-)

Let’s Set Sail

As a Premier Level Advisor with Glass Slipper Concierge, I am recognized for providing the highest level of customer service, experience, and knowledge in the industry.  I use my personal connections and firsthand expertise to craft bespoke Disney trips for the most discerning clients.  On top of that, Disney vacations are expensive and I know how to get the best value for your time and money.

In today’s ever changing travel environment, it is important to have a travel advisor with recent AND personal experience in your destination.  My family are platinum level cruisers on Disney Cruise Line, having sailed on the most magical ships at sea more than TEN times. Not only that, but you can count on my recent and personal experience sailing two to three times a year. I’ve experienced every stateroom type available, from the inside to a concierge suite. And, I’ve dined in the restaurants, enjoyed the port adventures and done it all so I can best advise YOU! Since they resumed sailing after covid-19, I sailed the Dream in August 2021 and the Wish in July AND November 2022.  I’ll be back on-board in May 2023!

The Disney Wish sails year-round from Port Canaveral, offering a series of three- and four-night Bahamas cruises to Nassau and Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay. I am booking Disney Cruise Line vacations across the fleet of five incredible ships through December 2023, and have an ongoing interest list for 2024 and beyond.
