Sunday Brunch {Amaretto Fruit Dip}

The other day I went down a rabbit hole flipping through some of my older cookbooks, which is always a dangerous and delightful place to wander. In one that my sweet friend NF gave me at a wedding shower back in 2002, the Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton cookbook, I stumbled upon a long forgotten favorite.

Back in the wedding shower and baby shower days, this little recipe seemed to make the rounds at every gathering. It is the most wonderful Amaretto Fruit Dip and truly the perfect treat for a ladies luncheon or brunch.

The recipe could not be simpler.

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 7-oz jar marshmallow crème
2 tablespoons amaretto

I simply dumped everything into my KitchenAid and let it whirl until smooth. Serve with your favorite fresh fruit and you are done. The recipe makes about two cups.

This was such a delicious addition to our family birthday celebration for Marme and CeeCee last month, and I am so glad to have it back in my life.

And honestly, it feels a little timely. I seem to be entering a new season of wedding showers again, only this time they are for my friends’ children instead of us. Recipes like this feel like sweet little threads connecting the years, and I suspect this one will be making the rounds again soon.
