Chocolate Covered Oreos

I love an Oreo right out of the package, but I’ve been making these chocolate covered Oreo’s for years as a special treat around the holidays.

A few tips:

  • I purchase the candy melts in different colors, based on the holiday, at Michael’s. You simply melt in the microwave, pour into the mold and then press in the Oreo! Top with a little more of the melted candy and smooth out. Pop in the fridge for just a few minutes and then they come right out of the mold.
  • I use this silicone mold.
  • There is usually a little candy left. I reheat and then drizzle on top of each cookie to add festive sprinkles. Fancy Sprinkles is one of my favorite sources for fantastic sprinkles. I also use their edible glitter.

Enjoy!

In September we crossed the LAST Disney World restaurant off of our bucket list – The Turf Club Bar & Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. And so, tonight we dined on Meatloaf Eyeballs and Brow-eye Pie. I used my favorite meatloaf recipe (for over 20 years!) and formed them into balls rather… Read More

Making Halloween Happy {Mummy Dogs & Graveyard Brownies}

It wouldn’t be Halloween around here if I didn’t serve up our long time seasonal fave – Mummy Dogs and Graveyard Brownies. As the boys have gotten older, they certainly appreciate an elevated meal. But they haven’t outgrown the classics! Mummy dogs are simply hotdogs wrapped in crescent dough. I bought the sheet this year… Read More
