Sunday Supper {Seared Tuna Bowls}

Honey has spent a lot more time in the kitchen than usual these past couple of months, and I am here for it! Ha! He is much more adventurous than me, particularly when it comes to fish and seafood. One of my favorites has been this seared tuna bowl.

Seared Tuna Bowls

  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 4 T soy sauce
  • 2 T sesame oil
  • 2 T honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, if desired
  • 2 T olive oil
  1. Pat the tuna dry and place in plastic bag. Mix all the sauce ingredients (above list except for oil) and pour in bag. Allow tuna to marinate in fridge for an hour.
  2. Heat skillet on medium until very hot. Add oil to hot pan. Sear tuna for 2 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  3. Remove from pan and let rest for at least 3 minutes. Slice into 1/2 inch slices.

I serve in a bowl over rice (we have determined we love the cilantro lime rice package!). Our favorite toppings are edamame, cilantro, avocado, tomato, cucumber, radish, red onion and lime.

Everyone LOVES this meal!!

His gift, ordered weeks ago, keeps getting pushed out so we didn’t even have one for him to open. Thankfully I still had the field day balloons hanging around to spice things up. :-) The teen was present, but… Read More
