Fall Break Fun and a Thank You

After yesterday’s post, I want to thank all of you that sent sweet comments, emails and texts.  Each and every one of them meant the world to me (and Honey too.)  I didn’t publish them, but did want you all to know that I read them and treasure them.  You sure know how to make a gal feel loved and how to make a really tough day a little easier on the heart.

On a much lighter note, the PCP has been out of school all week so, while I spent my quiet time remembering our loss, I spent the majority of my days making sure that Fall Break was non-stop FUN and (mostly) brotherly love around these parts!

We’ve reenacted the pilgrim’s voyage to Plymouth on the Mayflower.

And made and ate appropriately themed pilgrim hat cookies.  (We’ll do the Indians their justice tomorrow.)

We went to the playground.

We indulged on Peppermint Pinkberry, in waffle cones no less!

We puzzled and colored and Lincoln Logged, oh my!
We spent a morning at the Georgia Aquarium, enjoying Deepo’s 3D movie and the new dolphin exhibit for the first time!

And then had lunch at Honey’s office, complete with a free throw contest and some mini golf!

Sister had us over for more play ground fun and dinner!

We went to see The Smurf movie and actually purchased the movie theater popcorn and drinks for a change.

And, last but not least, we met the whole O clan out at our favorite haunt, Taqueria del Sol.

Before the week is over, we still have a girls night out at the local piano bar, two Thanksgiving suppers, cocktails with the neighbors, Santa pictures, the PCP’s birthday, the big GT vs UGA football game and the Nutcracker!  I LOVE HOLIDAYS!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
xoxo

Four Years Ago

Four years ago today was Thanksgiving Day.  It was also the day that, after eighteen long hours of labor, I delivered my son Matthew stillborn. I knew going into labor that he wasn’t alive, but that didn’t make the time go any faster or the pain any less.  He was perfect and beautiful and will… Read More

Heavenly Gourmet

Armed with a Groupon, the baby and I popped in Heavenly Gourmet popcorn in Alpharetta earlier this week. Clearly the proprietors of this fine establishment did their market research when naming the joint because “heavenly” and “gourmet” were just two of the fine adjectives that came to mind at first nibble of the fare.  The… Read More
