On My Bedside {The Year We Disappeared}

September 30, 2020September 15, 2020

By now I’m sure y’all know that I’ve found a number of books that I loved via my boys’ required school reading. Most recently was Refugee, and now The Year We Disappeared by Cylin and John Busby. When John chose this title for his Lit class book club, I was immediately intrigued. This extraordinary true… Read More

Sunday Supper {Guacamole Salad}

September 27, 2020September 7, 2020

We LOVE avocado and this guacamole salad is a lovely, light summer supper where you don’t have to heat up the kitchen with the oven! I served it with a simple white bread and Honey grilled chicken. Guacamole Salad Barefoot Contessa At Home  1 pint grape tomatoes, halved 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and 1/2-inch… Read More

September 24, 2020September 24, 2020

I spent the entire summer doing something I’ve never done before… taking Simply Jessica Marie‘s painting class! It is entirely FREE and so much FUN! I first shared the class with y’all back in July but wanted to follow up now that it is complete to say how very much I enjoyed it. When you… Read More

Things Could Be Worse

September 22, 2020September 17, 2020

One of my dearest friends gave me this set of mugs for my birthday and they are TOO good not to share. (Yes, that was in March but we just now saw each other again!) These are the winner of 2020 and they make me smile every single morning. The mugs appear to be a… Read More

Sunday Supper {Garlic & Herb Roasted Shrimp}

September 20, 2020December 3, 2024

I haven’t made shrimp at home in ages but this recipe will be added to the regular rotation. It was so easy, so delicious and one everyone loved! I particularly enjoyed the fact that I could prepare it early in the afternoon and then just pop it in the oven 20 minutes before sitting down… Read More

Happy Hour {Empress Lavender Lemonade}

September 18, 2020December 18, 2020

Happy Friday, friends! Honey and I are still loving Empress gin and continue to enjoy trying out new recipes. This is one I had on my “list” to make all summer. It was light and refreshing, but not my most favorite of all. (That award goes to the Empress 75!!) I really do think that… Read More

Trader Joe’s Ahi Tuna Crisps

September 17, 2020September 19, 2021

I can always count on Trader Joe’s for yummy and easy appetizer ideas! These ahi tuna crisps were a big hit with my boys. Of course, they were scarfed down in about two seconds. They sure don’t savor the good things at these ages. :-) I used the crispbread, with a smear of cream cheese,… Read More

A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍 Back in my hometow A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍

Back in my hometown celebrating the daughter of my sorority big sis, one of my dearest friends since the day we met at the ZTA house during rush.

For over three decades, we’ve shared so much life together. I can still remember decorating A’s nursery, celebrating birthdays and cheering her on through every stage along the way.

And now here we are, celebrating her wedding weekend in beautiful Savannah.

The entire weekend celebration was absolutely sensational, filled with faith, family, friends, happy tears, lots of laughter and more love than I can possibly put into words.

My heart is so full. 🤍 All of our best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. 🤍
The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O. 🤍

We ate all our favorite things, visited all our favorite places and enjoyed the kind of time together that never lasts quite long enough.

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
