What We’re Watching Part 11

September 27, 2024September 19, 2024

It was early spring the last time I did a digest of our favorite shows. We fall solidly in the Netflix camp, so you’ll find these there! Bridgerton I’m not sure this one need any sort of statement. I loved seeing how things turned out for Pen. And, of course, the dresses and interiors and… Read More

On My Bedside {A Court of Thorns and Roses Series}

September 26, 2024September 19, 2024

I spent a chunk of my summer completely immersed in A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. I loved them so much that I couldn’t even wait on my turn to come up at the library every time I was ready for the next. This was the rare series I purchased outright.… Read More

Auburn Family Weekend {AU Charcuterie Board}

September 25, 2024September 18, 2024

I had so much fun putting this together for happy hour at the lake Friday night of Family Weekend. A few of the special touches were: I used a lot of items I had on hand. The board included: You can find the whipped goat cheese recipe here. It is one of my most-made apps… Read More

Sunday Supper {Perfect Roast Chicken}

September 22, 2024September 19, 2024

I’ve roasted many a whole chicken over the years, but this one is quite literally perfect. It was easy, juicy, flavorful and browned up wonderfully. Honey and Whit liked it so much that it made me sad John wasn’t here to enjoy it, too! I’ll definitely do it again – easy, tasty and a good… Read More

Sunday Supper {Perfect Pound Cake}

September 16, 2024September 16, 2024

We are just back from Auburn Family Weekend with full hearts and fantastic memories of our first game day on the Plains. We rented a house at Lake Martin with friends and I carried this pound cake to nibble on during our stay. I have used the same divine pound cake recipe since we were… Read More

On My Bedside {Molly The Maid Series: 1 & 2}

September 13, 2024September 13, 2024

Mother loaned me the first two books in the Molly the Maid series by Nita Prose and they were just delightful to read! While both books have a mystery at the heart of the story, this isn’t your ordinary thriller. You can’t help but fall in love with the peculiar and completely charming Molly. I’ve… Read More

Remembering 9/11

September 11, 2024September 11, 2024

I remember vividly the years when they boys were little and I intentionally didn’t turn on the tv or radio on this day. I couldn’t bear for their innocent minds and pure hearts to know the horror of the real world. As they got older and started to hear about it in school, I was… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
