Late Night Steak Night Date Night

July 7, 2013July 28, 2015

When I picked up two nice steaks on big sale with the intention to freeze for later and then my evening girls night out plans got cancelled at the last minute, it was as if an at home date night was just meant to be!  I already had the tri color carrots and red potatoes… Read More

All American Meatloaf

July 1, 2013July 28, 2015

When I shared our Bon Voyage Mickey Meatloaf, I just assumed that it would be easy to google the Southern Living All American Meatloaf recipe so I didn’t include it in my post.  Well, come to find out, the one I’ve used for the last ten or so years is actually nowhere to be found! … Read More

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

June 18, 2013July 28, 2015

After listening to bestie M rave on about her delish baked chicken, I finally took the plunge and made my very first whole chicken.  Ever.  You see, I have always been repulsed by bones… I don’t eat fried chicken or ribs or turkey (unless it’s in sliced form) or anything with bones.  Sister doesn’t either… Read More

Patriotic Sangria + Our Weekend

May 27, 2013July 28, 2015

I do adore this first official holiday of the summer season!  First things first, a patriotic sangria was the libation of choice… Patriotic Sangria – Mix together 2/3 each of sugar, orange juice and lemon juice.  Stir until sugar dissolves. – Add a large 150mL bottle of red wine.  I used a very cheap merlot. … Read More

Cinco de Mayo + 2 Winners

May 6, 2013July 28, 2015

We celebrated cinco de mayo with a little at home fiesta!  It’s kind of my go-to five-five supper and I pretty much only make it this one time of the year, although we do quite enjoy it! Take a gander at our Tostado Bar…  chipotle sour cream, lime cilantro bbq sauce, Mexican slaw, beans and… Read More

Pinterest Picks {7 Taste Tested Recipes}

April 13, 2013July 28, 2015

I try really, really hard to only pin things that are truly inspiring or that I really might do one day.  Because let’s face it, it’s so easy to pin anything and everything that your boards can become a hot mess in no time flat. That being said, I’ve tried quite a few recipes from… Read More

St. Patrick’s Eve Entertaining

March 17, 2013July 28, 2015

We wrapped up a gorgeous Southern Saturday with a super impromptu gathering of neighbors for corned beef sandwiches.  At five p.m. we had plans for one couple to come down, I ran to the grocery store at six and by seven there were seventeen of us.  It’s one of the things I love love love… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
