We spend most of our days in the den and kitchen and I pull out all the stops to make these two rooms as fun and festive as possible!!
The tree in our family room holds all of our favorite ornaments. From little snowmen crafted by tiny hands to ornaments carried home from special vacations, this tree is loaded with memories. It is always a joy to unbox them at the start of each Christmas season!
The stockings are collected from Ballard Designs over the years. I love that they have carried this line for so long so that we could add on as our family grew! I think Elsa’s fifth stocking completed everything.
The tartan pillows were from Home Goods. I keep a stack of Christmas books right by the fire all season long.
The wood monograms on the stockings are from Scrappin Plus.
The coffee table gets a festive flower arrangement and a bowl of mints. You can see here that I’ve swapped out all of my frames with Santa pictures. I keep them in the frame year round… just behind the regular picture so it’s really easy to do. I have finished out the den already so I think this year’s pic will be framed on my bedside table. Get all of my tips and tricks for arranging flowers in THIS VIDEO!
I add greenery everywhere I can think of. I also use pheasant feathers in the den and entry.
Just like at Halloween, the banquette gets a puzzle for Christmas too! This one is from the Disney Store. I’ve been burning my Christmas Belle candle from Anthology Candles all month and it is DELIGHTFUL!
The monogrammed tartan mugs are from the Dixie Delights Shop.
You wouldn’t think of my everyday color scheme as one that would look good at Christmas, but I think all of the red seamlessly layers in!
The evenings are my very favorite time in the den. Everything just glitters with joy and happiness!
Now, moving into the kitchen I continue with the traditional Christmas colors.
I swap out off of our Blue Willow with the quintessential Spode Christmas Tree china! This was on our wedding registry and we started out with all the basics. Each year, Mother and Daddy-O usually add a few specialty pieces to our collection.
I collected mini Spode ornaments at Home Goods for a few years. Long enough to fill up this mini tree (that I forgot to turn on in this pic!).
I get my decorations up before Thanksgiving for a few personal reasons. And since the littles are home the whole week of Thanksgiving, I load up with all sorts of seasonal treats for their enjoyment.
All those treats make them thirsty, so I set up a hot chocolate, apple cider and coffee bar with my Keurig. These mugs are available in the Dixie Delights Shop.
Over in the breakfast room side of the kitchen, I swag greenery from the chandelier and sconces and continue with the tartan.
After years of trying to figure out what to do with our Christmas cards, last year I covered the big picture in repositionable chalkboard paper and taped our cards to it as they arrived!
I like to keep the centerpiece on the kitchen table simple and portable. We use this table for dining, games and more all season so being able to move the runner and large platter easily out of the way is a must.
Last but not least, Elsa got festive tartan bowls for the season.
There’s not much I love more than having our home decorated for the holidays! The next stop on the tour will be the living room and dining room!

Your den is my favorite at Christmas – like yours, our den tree is full of family ornaments and memories, and I adore seeing that in other homes! ❤️ xo
Yes!! It’s my fave. The one in the living room is pretty but it’s not really US! xo
Beautiful tour, Amanda! I love your idea for the Christmas cards. I have tried a few things over the years like put them in a basket but I prefer to see them out and displayed.
Shelley
Yes! Me too!!! Took me years to come up with this one :-)
Beautiful den & kitchen tour! You do such a great job of making your holiday home feel festive and fun!! I can tell kids live there and I love it!! Merry Christmas :-)
Thanks so much Lindsey <3
Lovely…absolutely lovely. I too focus on our family room since it is a room we are in most of the time. I love all the Santa pics of the boys over the years that you continue to display.
I LOVE your kitchen and how you just make it so special. I could just melt like a snowman
at your table taking it all in. When I remodeled my kitchen two years ago your cabinet color and countertop colors were my inspiration. Just kept coming back to your pics:)
Aw, thank you SO much! I’m flattered on the kitchen front! And yes, the family room is definitely the one to go all out on. I have filled all the frames in the den now so I’ve moved upstairs to my bedside table this year. Time flies…
Gorgeous! OB-sessed with yalls kitchen! Xo
Thank you SO much! I needed to hear that because I sometimes have a non-white-kitchen-complex. :-) But I love it and that’s what really matters!!!
I love how you use your Spode serving and decorative pieces a part of your decorations. My mother and Aunt started me with Spode xmas tree after college graduation. Now I have numerous decorative and serving pieces as well as serice for12 plus. So grateful to have this.
Hi, Amanda! I absolutely love your tartan plates with the monogram. Would you mind sharing your source for those? Thanks in advance, Abby
Hi Amanda! Your home is so beautiful, but especially at Christmas. I always love to see what you’ve done. I love it that you use pheasant feathers here & there. They add such a nice touch. How do you make them into a topper for your tree?
I love the monogrammed tartan plates. I was hopping to find them in your Etsy shop but didn’t see them. Can you share where you purchased them? I did a search for them but they didn’t show up.
The plates were meant to be in my shop this year but I never got around to it :-( I will try in Jan!
I also love your Christmas decorating ideas, everything is so lovely. I am especially in love with the tartan plates and your monogram from Number four eleven. Would you mind sharing the monogram style and where you purchased the plates? I looked in your shop (while stalking the site for more of those darling Christmas bracelets your mom created) but only saw mugs.
Thanks so much for sharing, am enjoying following along on your Disney vacations and your fun family traditions!
Thank you! The plates were meant to be in my shop this year but I never got around to it :-( I will try in Jan!
Touring your home is always a joy Amanda!
Thank you Vel. Yours is TOO!!
Just like everyone else, I love your kitchen, year round and at Christmas. You prove that you can go traditional red and green when that is nowhere near you usual color scheme. My question is regarding the gorgeous ornaments hanging from the chandy in the breakfast room and that stunning reindeer/deer on the breakfast room table. Do you recall from where they came?
Also, I am obsessed with Elsa’s bowls. Wherever did you find those?
Have a very merry Christmas!
