Haunted Halloween Home Tour {Kitchen}

Our Haunted Halloween Home Tour continues today in the kitchen!

I am so excited about how my Halloween orange and black pops in the new kitchen! I always liked it before but now I’m just in love.

While the living room decor is pretty spooky with the hologram pictures and haunted accessories, the kitchen is a cute and friendly take on Halloween.

I keep out the white decorate plates that I use pretty much year round and replace the oyster plates with Halloween decor.

I got the Happy Everything frame with Christmas money and have enjoyed swapping out the attachments and pictures pretty much every month. The chalkboard was from Michael’s a few years ago. I made the crow at a craft party hosted by Sister a while back. And, of course, seasonal candy is always a favorite way to decorate for any holiday.

I didn’t plan this, but when it happened I decided I would be doing it every year… I was putting my fruit in the bowl after going to the grocery store and realized I had candy corn colored fruit! I pulled out the apples and left oranges, clementines, bananas and lemons here. Functional, tasty and decorative! The bowl is from Target (Magnolia line), the candle coaster is from Ikea (I don’t think that was it’s actual function) and the Wizard’s Pub candle is from Spireside Candles (save 15% by using my link!)

The coffee area has been dressed with my Happy Everything plate and new Mickey ghost mugs that we brought home as our Disney souvenirs last year. I put coffee, espresso and hot chocolate pods in my Nora Fleming trio dish. It was a gift from a friend and she adds to my collection every year. I love all of the pieces and the darling attachments.

We use the island for everything now that it is flat and solid! I kept the holiday decor to a minimum – using just my new Mickey Treat Bowl that I chose as a souvenir from Disney last month. I put clementines and mini Halloween pretzels inside for an easy snack.

It only took ten years, but I finally have the breakfast table how I want it. :-) Right-sizing the table and changing the location of the bench made such a huge difference. I also changed out the picture that was here for a mirror.

For Halloween I have my old Ballard Jack o Lantern shades out over the island and the table.

I tied ribbons on this cute container I’ve had for ages. The arrangement was made in a large cup to fit right inside and not ruin the pumpkin. I went with orange and yellow flowers for Halloween!

I repurposed the bunting I made for the porch fireplace a couple of years ago into a smaller bunting for the kitchen. I added the cutest Trick or Treat garland from the dollar spot at Target. I use command hooks to hang things like this on the mirror.

Just like we did the last couple of years, we kicked off our Halloween festivities with a dessert in the Haunted House Bundt Pan.  You can find the recipe for the cake and more details in this post.

I’ve used and reused these Starbucks frappuccino bottles for years!  I picked up the ghost face clings years ago as well, but they would be easy to paint right onto the bottles, or use a cricut to create.

I love decorating the kitchen almost more than any other room (except the porch) because I work in here and we spend much of our evening in here!

I’ll be back to share the den this weekend! Here’s a little peek…

Happy Halloween, y’all!

  1. Amanda,
Your Haunted Kitchen tour is my favorite room so far. Your décor really does pop in the new kitchen with everything being whiter and brighter. I just love the jack-o-lantern shades you found for the chandelier and your Mickey treat bowl is just too cute! I cant wait to see what you have done in the remaining rooms.

  2. So fun and festive! The black and orange really stand out now against the bright white -I just love it! xo

  3. Amanda,

As always, I LOVE the way you decorate! You have the spookiest and prettiest Halloween house out there! Love it!
