Good morning! I am excited to share my den and office today as part of the annual 11 Magnolia Lane Holiday Tour of Homes. If you are joining me from my sweet friend Rachel at This is Our Bliss, Welcome, Y’all!!
I’m a wife and mom to two awesome boys and I work as a travel agent specializing in Disney destinations. I hope you will continue to follow along as I decorate, travel, create and celebrate all the little moments in life.
For now, it’s on with the show!
Den Holiday Decor
Along with the kitchen, our den and office are the most used rooms of the house. I love to make them as merry and festive as possible.
I’ve had most of my holiday decor for years, and only add or change a couple of things from year to year. I mostly stick to very traditional greenery and colors throughout our home at the holidays.
The tree in our family room holds all of our favorite ornaments. From little snowmen crafted by tiny hands to ornaments carried home from special vacations, this tree is loaded with memories. It is always a joy to unbox them at the start of each Christmas season! I shared this year’s new additions in this post >> Our Favorite Souvenirs.
Over at the fireplace, the stockings are collected from Ballard Designs over the years as our family grew. The wood monograms on the stockings are from Scrappin Plus.
One of my favorite Christmas things is the magic light wand that is set up to turn on our den tree and garland. I have given them as gifts a few times and the recipients always, always love them. <3 All of my other trees are on this Remote Tree Switch. It is one of the best investments I’ve ever made!!
The coffee table always gets a festive flower arrangement, a bowl of candy, a fragrant candle and some seasonal magazines. Get all of my tips and tricks for arranging flowers in THIS VIDEO!
As I unpack my Christmas decor, I repack the boxes with decorative items I use the rest of the year. I love to swap out our framed photos with the boy’s Santa pictures from over the years.
My plaid pillows were all collected over the years at Homegoods. The tree pillows are from Everyday Occasions and the Pendleton blanket was my souvenir from Alaska, made especially for the McKinley Lodge at Denali National Park!
Over in the corner, you can see the Christmas wreath painting my mother and I made a few years ago. This is also home to our record player that is almost always spinning with the Elf soundtrack vinyl.
Like Mother, I love tucking holiday books all over the house. I have spent many Christmas holidays snuggled by the fire reading one of her many Christmas stories. These sit on the garden stool at the end of the sofa.
You can see more Santa pictures on the pie crust table, as well as some fun glasses we brought home from Disney years ago that change Christmas lights into things like reindeer and snowmen!
Just like at Halloween, the banquette gets a puzzle for Christmas too! This one is from the Disney Store. Mother made the boys’ silhouette pillows years ago. They move around the house frequently. I had our Christmas card picture printed onto a board last year (Shutterfly) and absolutely love it displayed here. The candy cane glasses were found on clearance from Pottery Barn last January.
Over on the TV wall the antlers really work this time of year, although they are a permanent fixture in the room. :-)
This year I have my grandma’s shiny brites in one of Mother’s old siver trays. I love seeing them here and that they aren’t just lost on the tree.
The last little piece of the den is over on the wall next to the kitchen. This Christmas house was designed just for me by Paige (your next stop on the tour!) and I absolutely love the details!
I am still just so happy with our kitchen update this summer. Leveling out the peninsula gives me this beautiful view all the way from the kitchen straight through the den.
The evenings are my very favorite time in the den. Everything just glitters with joy and happiness!
Family Office Holiday Decor
Next is the family office. This is the only room where I stray from red and go with PINK!!! I girl needs a little pink in her life, right?! I’ll keep this short and sweet since I’ve already taken so much of your time.
Over on the dresser I swap out the everyday print for a preppy Christmas print. You can find the free printable Lilly Christmas bow file HERE.
One of my boys made the art and it is one of my all time favorite pieces.
The 12 days of Christmas bunting is from Lindsay Letters. It’s so sweet and each one is perfectly detailed. (If you follow Lindsay Letters, you will know that hanging this up this year was quite emotional. I thought of all the joy and happiness she has brought to so many through her art and continue to pray for healing for her daughter.)
I had the best intentions of filling our advent calendar with acts of kindness and am determined to make it happen. How is it already December 4?!
The next stop on the tour is bound to be colorful and fabulous… hop on over to Paige at The Pink Clutch!
