Classic Christmas 2024 {Teen Boy Bedrooms}

I’m back today with a peek inside my boys’ bedrooms all decorated for Christmas!

Teen Boy Bedroom Classic Christmas Decor

In John’s room you will find more colorful Christmas decor and special things he has had for years. Not much changed in here decor wise since you last saw it.

The sheets were from Pottery Barn a few of years ago.  I have used the same set for ages! This year I moved some plaid pillows that are typically downstairs up to his room.

The print over his bed for Christmas is a limited edition courtesy of The Old Try.

Honey bought the desk in 2020 when his work moved virtual and it became John’s last year. Honey works in here when John is at school and then John takes it back over when in town. They both love the size of it.

The antique dresser was in his nursery. He’s almost outgrown the size of the drawers. :-) Over on the dresser are more of my old nutcrackers. In fact, the little red one was the actual nutcracker I used when I was Clara in the 1993 Ballet South production. Gulp!

Here’s the view looking towards the other side of the room.

The lounge area is one of his favorite spaces. The reindeer pillow was from his first Christmas and the bear was from his 13th birthday trip to NYC. They are tucked away most of the year but I enjoy bringing them out at Christmas.

Mr. Grinch is another nod to Christmases as a little boy. He used to belong to Marme and Daddy-O but John loved him so much they eventually let him have it. I remember many, many dances to his song.

On the coffee table is a book from his first Christmas and another memento of NYC.

And, finally, a view of his bookcase with a stocking Mother made him eons ago and a light up sign from his 16th Christmas-themed birthday party.

A few years ago he had collected enough ornaments for a full sized tree in his room! Every one on here commemorates a trip, a rite of passage, age or stage, or was a gift from someone loved.

This year we worked up updating Whit’s room and I can’t wait to show its “everyday look”. He picked some new bedding pieces, ski and golf art and a new book shelf.

We ordered new ski themed Christmas bedding but it turned up on backorder so we went with the ones he’s had forever. Those can make their grand debut Christmas 2025!

The colorful garlands over his bed were from Target a while back and are hung with command hooks. I’m not sure the colors will be right with the 2025 looks so I’ll have to find a new place for this next year. It’s too cute to let go!

Seven years ago on a sick day at home, he made his very own painting to hang over his bed.  You can see all about it here: reindeer painting. It’s funny how clearly I remember that day and how glad I am that we did this together. We give the boys an ornament each year that is representative of something they did or loved that year, and we also collect them on vacations in what is usually our only souvenir.  My parents give them a dated nutcracker every year, and they also have the ornaments they make at school.  I made a colorful garland for Whit’s tree out of old Disney MagicBands! Mother made the stocking years ago.

Over on the other side of the room is his dresser (Honey’s as a child) and the chair that we move to make room for the tree. The North Pole pillow was one I just happened to find and I LOVE it.  I knew the moment I saw it that it would be perfect in here. When we revamped his room we moved his Anna and Elsa paintings to a less prominent spot. He was not keen on moving them elsewhere in the house. :-)

The felt garland was also from Pottery Barn but might need a new home at home next year.  Here is another piece of art by Whit.  Hard to believe that he was four when he carried it home and turned 16 a few days ago.

The bedside table gets a few Christmas updates, too.

And, finally, the last angle of the room is towards his new bookshelf.

The last space to share is coming right up!
