Happy Halloween

We had such a simple, happy Halloween and I hope you did too. It was a picture perfect fall night, with cool air and crisp fallen leaves.

My day started by receiving this amazing photo of John and friends in their Halloween costumes at school. They did the TSA line and funneled students through here between classes. Their school goes all out on Halloween and John said they had the best time!

Whit went over to a friend’s house where they enjoyed curry and games. John also went to a friend’s house for a costume party and sleep over – senior skip day is tomorrow. Before we all parted ways, I had the Mummy Stromboli and chocolate covered oreos ready for a snack.

That left Honey and I at home! In 2020 we carried a trick or treat table out to the end of the driveway and we’ve done it that way since. Very few groups were crossing our street and climbing up our hill – we get so much more traffic this way. It’s also so much easier on the puppies as we leave them inside. We had a great fire going to keep warm and our trick or treaters went through two gallons of apple cider! The ghost I made at CeeCee’s Craft-oween got so many compliments!

Happy Halloween!

Making Halloween Happy {Eye Love Halloween Dinner}

This fun dinner turned out even even better than I’d imagined. I love taking a favorite meal and adding a little something extra to make it holiday special. And so, tonight we dined on Meatloaf Eyeballs and Brow-eye Pie. I used my favorite meatloaf recipe (for over 20 years!) and formed them into balls rather… Read More

Making Halloween Happy {Mummy Dogs & Graveyard Brownies}

It wouldn’t be Halloween around here if I didn’t serve up our long time seasonal fave – Mummy Dogs and Graveyard Brownies. As the boys have gotten older, they certainly appreciate an elevated meal. But they haven’t outgrown the classics! Mummy dogs are simply hotdogs wrapped in crescent dough. I bought the sheet this year… Read More
