Musings

Happy weekend y’all! We made it to the end of January, which felt longer than any other month I’ve had in recent memory.

When Mother and Daddy-O were in town last week, Whit wanted to make them our favorite grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was a huge hit!

I could not say this any better myself.

I don’t know who needs to read this today, but here it is.

The thing I “survived” brought me one of my dearest friends, years later, when she struggled with losing her precious son Porter. To be able to hold her rainbow baby, Noah, last week was priceless. I felt relief and joy and awe at God’s grace. Look at this precious thank you she had for his visitors and prayer warriors!

I took her my standard meal on wheels… you can find the details here:

Honey sent me this a few days ago and I just couldn’t stop laughing. I showed it to Mother and she said, “Why don’t you move it somewhere else? We stand ours up in a cabinet.” It was like a light bulb went off. I have always kept it in my utensil drawer because I couldn’t imagine it anywhere else. Now that is is moved, I experience a moment of delight every time I glide open the utensil drawer. :-)

I’m sure y’all saw many variations of the Dolly Parton challenge this past week. These were my two personal favorites!

I had one of those days this week where I just needed to work in my pjs and hit the Chick-fil-A drive through for a #1 for lunch. This baby came with and tried her very best to get her fair share of said #1. I happened to be talking to the new baby mama while I sat in the Chick-fil-A parking lot eating my lunch in my pjs and slippers and asked if there was anything she needed. You know, I’ve asked her this ONE MILLION TIMES and she has said no every one. Well, this day she said “Yes! Are you going by the dollar store.” Had to laugh and clarify that at this time I could only get her something available in a drive through but I’d willingly go to ANY drive through she’d like… McDonalds, Starbucks. CVS, Chick-fil-A, you name it. I just can’t physically walk in a store right now. :-)

Last night was John’s 8th grade dance. We had a boy mom pre-party in order to ensure they didn’t back out. Time flies and, apparently, a good time was had by all. My favorite part was the look on John’s face when we were en route and I said “So, what dance should we do first? Maybe the cha cha cha? Or do you think the floss?” He was momentarily speechless before saying, “You’re not going, right? Wait, ARE YOU GOING?” bwahahahaha

I’ll leave you with this article about a deaf student learning that farts have noise. I had my boys read it too. It’s a good one, for many reasons on many levels. <3
