Mother’s Day

While I didn’t have the honor of seeing my own mother today, I have been doubly lucky to see her already twice this month and again in a few days! She worked so hard her whole life to make a wonderful life for my sister and I, and is the epitome of patience, kindness, love, grace and beauty.

Today and every day, I am thankful for the two that made me a mother. When I had John, I didn’t even realize what a miracle children are. I took so much for granted.

And, then there was Whit. The child I never thought I’d have.

These two are the biggest blessings in my life. I wake up thankful for them and go to bed at night almost overwhelmed with gratefulness that they are here under my roof – safe, happy, healthy.

Some days I wish I could push the pause button. But, most days I am joyful that they are growing, learning and preparing to one day leave our nest as confident, polite, loving, prayerful, hard working, kind and grateful men.

With the help of their daddy, they have all made me feel like a princess today. <3 Tonight they are cooking at home for my mother in law and me!

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms of angels and Happy Mother’s Day to those that have lost their moms.  My heart aches for you.  Happy Mother’s Day to the fur baby moms and the step moms.  Happy Mother’s Day to the birth moms and to the moms by adoption.   You are such strong, amazing women.  Happy Mother’s Day to the Mr. Moms.  And, Happy Mother’s Day to all that play a mom role in the life of someone else.

Mother’s Day Getaway at St. Regis Atlanta

The St. Regis Atlanta is my “hometown” favorite for a staycation. We’ve been as a family, a couple and with girls, and there is something for every occasion. Yesterday after field day festivities were complete at the elementary school, six of us ditched the suburbs and headed in town for a luxurious 24-hour getaway as an early… Read More

Field Days

Both boys had their field days this week – the most anticipated day of the year still in fourth and seventh! I helped out with the tricycle race for fourth and fifth grade at Whit’s school. They had so much fun competing against their fellow fourth grade classes and, while they didn’t bring home the… Read More

Backyard Garden

If you’ve been around for a while, you will know that I almost always plant my backyard garden on Good Friday. I had everything ready to do just that last month, but the weather was horrid so I put it off until Easter Monday. My roses are doing wonderfully, which is a real miracle since… Read More
