Whit has a little friend named Wyatt that has just been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, DSRCT.  Known as the “incredible hulk” around town, he’s a seven year old wrestler and baseball player, and has one of the most precious faces you’ve ever seen.   You can read about Wyatt and follow his journey on the the #wywystrong facebook page.

Since his diagnosis, our community has rallied around him and his family.  One little thing that he absolutely loves is seeing people “throw up the W” in support of him.  In addition to his friends, family and local sports teams, he’s getting support from everyone from Jeff Foxworthy to Robin Meade to Nancy Grace.   His very favorites are from professional athletes, as you can imagine, and he’s getting a TON of them.  We’re talking people like Emmitt Smith, Matt Ryan, Greg Maddox, Marcus Mariota and Allen Hurns.

Here’s my ask…  I’m wondering if any of YOU have any sort of contact to have the following guys send a picture “throwing the W” in support of Wyatt.  Specifically, Steph Curry, JJ Watt, Odell Beckham, LeBron James, Mike Trout, and Bryce Harper.  His dad seems to think that a picture from any of these guys would just make his day… and I do think he has a point :-)  If you think you could help facilitate this with any of these athletes (or really ANY celebrity, athlete or team, shoot me an email (amanda@dixiedelightsonline) or post it directly to the #wywystrong facebook page!!  It’s such a very small thing that brings a moment of joy and a great big smile to a really brave kid.
