Bloody Delish

First, I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kind words and encouragement yesterday.  You brought me to tears, filled my heart, replenished my spirit and encouraged me to press forward.  I wish I could give each and every one of you a big real life HUG!

I set up an impromptu little Bloody Mary cocktail hour for Honey and I last week.  Why?  I have no idea.  I guess because it was Friday and I hadn’t left my chair for three days (ankle-gate 2.0) and a storm was brewing and I’m constantly stressing out over one of my littles and I just darn well felt like it.  (If you’re wondering, Honey didn’t even ask how it was that I “can’t” make din din but I can set up a cocktail bar.)

I use my favorite-always-on-hand Zing Zang mix as the base, but That Southern Chick has a worth-your-while from scratch recipe that’s every bit as amazing!!  In fact, she was the original inspiration for the kettle chip topper too.  That gal knows her way around the bloody.

For my little bar, I set out celery, salt and vinegar kettle chips, turkey pepperoni and pickled okra.  (You might notice the lack of olives… I abhor them.)  Oh, and I topped my skewers with a little washi flag, just for kicks.  Fill your glass to the tippy top with ice, add your mix, vodka, and a twist of lime and then go to town on the toppers.  I mean, who doesn’t love a fru fru looking cocktail?!

My glass came with my General Mills Movie Night package, but That Southern Chick has you covered there as well.  I’ve used the one she did for me with a Lilly initial all.summer.long.  I have had the chalkboard for ages but recently just picked up a second at Michael’s after looking for it for two years.

I’d love for you to join in on the Bloody Mary wars!!!  *hint hint bestie R*  Leave a comment with YOUR favorite way to make it bloody delish!!

xoxo

Musings

I spied this darling Bar sign at Homegoods for $99 back before ankle-gate 2.0. It is the perfect colors for my Georgia Tech basement. Too bad my once stylish bar is now a modified trophy case. LOL The baby came home from school last week and announced he was cooking supper. He’s a funny kid,… Read More
