School Night Supper {Spaghetti & Meatballs}

July 28, 2024July 29, 2024

One of my “lazy mom supper” standbys is spaghetti and meatballs. But, the secret sauce is to use all Rao’s ingredients. I start with a box of the frozen Rao’s meatballs and sauce. To make it go further, I add an extra jar of Rao’s sauce. And, I use the Rao’s spaghetti as well. There… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Photo Album}

July 26, 2024July 26, 2024

I’ve shared here that every year I print out 300 4×6″ prints and slide them into an album. I love knowing that I have real photographs of our most special memories. Well, at the very beginning of senior year I figured out quickly that I was going to need all sorts of pictures of John,… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Yearbook Tribute}

July 25, 2024July 26, 2024

I was a wee bit scared John would not be pleased to open his yearbook to find a full page tribute. But you only graduate once, right?! And my motto through this season of life has been to celebrate everything to the fullest. I was so glad we took his senior photos last summer, as… Read More

Happy Hour {Watermelon Cosmo}

July 23, 2024July 8, 2024

This watermelon cosmopolitan is a bit labor intensive as you have to cut, blend and strain a watermelon to get to all that wonderful juice. That said, if you have a long holiday weekend like I did, it is a delicious, light and refreshing spin on a cosmo! Since there are just two of us… Read More

Sunday Supper {Pot Roast Gyros}

July 21, 2024July 8, 2024

I’m back with another great Half Baked Harvest crock pot recipe! I love any meal that doesn’t require me to heat up the house with the oven. This one was a big hit with the family, but I thought the cut of meat she recommends was kind of tough. I’d use something different next time.… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Dressing the Grad}

July 19, 2024July 11, 2024

One of the things I most often questioned about is dressing boys! I thought I’d share how we outfitted the family for John’s graduation. I figured there’s no better day than graduation day to show that last bit of school spirit. There was a strict dress code issued by the school – tie (no bow… Read More

School Night Supper {Costco Stuffed Peppers}

July 18, 2024July 8, 2024

After discovering the stuffed peppers in the prepared food area of Costco a few months back, they have been on a regular rotation! They are delicious, filling and the whole family loves them. What more could a mom ask for?! They come with six generous sized pepper halves in the container. I think they taste… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
